Brock Lesnar v Ricochet

The WWE continue to draw a great deal of criticism for the decision to hold multiple stadium shows in Saudi Arabia each year, but that will not stop them from heading off to Riyadh once again this month for the latest ‘Super ShowDown’ event at the King Fahd International Stadium. Brock Lesnar is once again one of the headline attractions and on this occasion he will be defending his WWE Championship against Ricochet – the man who helped eliminate ‘The Beast Incarnate’ from the Royal Rumble last month. Lesnar had been on a tear in that match, ousting opponent after opponent from the over-the-top-rope elimination match, but a low blow from Ricochet presented Drew McIntyre with the opportunity to hit a Claymore kick that sent Lesnar flying over the top rope and out of the match. McIntyre, of course, went on to win the Rumble and earn a shot at the title at WrestleMania, and nobody is buying the prospect of Ricochet ruining the plans for a Lesnar-McIntyre showdown in Tampa Bay. The WWE champion will make another successful defence of his title in Saudi and in true Brock fashion we expect the match to be swift and brutal. We expect to see Ricochet pay a visit to take a trip to ‘Suplex City’ before Lesnar hits him with the F5 and gets the win in less than seven minutes. And of course, a swift one-sided blow-out is hardly going to get a great rating from Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer. Not even the Tokyo Dome (yes, I went there) could prevent this match from getting under 3.25 stars.
