The “Bet Builder” is one of the newest and fastest growing markets in Sports betting, giving bettors the chance to create an accumulator bet on a single match or event, depending on the sport.
These bets have become increasingly popular for Football backers, who can place this accumulator bet on multiple matches with certain bookmakers, giving players more opportunities to win and potentially earn larger amounts due to larger overall odds per bet.
So, with Euro 2020 upon us, what better time than now to dive in and offer you some Bet Builder tips throughout the tournament, as well as explaining how they work and provide any special offers which are available.

How To Place A Bet Builder
If we use football as the most popular example, most bookmakers that feature the bet builder will have a specific Bet Builder (or similarly named) section. Bookmakers like Paddy Power and bet365 do this, whereas other bookmakers like Sky Bet have “pre-built” Request-A-Bets ready for you to select by clicking on the available odds.
The individual bets cover all types of in-game events, from goals, shots, cards, corners, under/over and more, to more sedate selections such as the match winner, match result, first scorer and winning margin. Whatever markets are displayed will usually be available to add into a bet builder, this improving your potential winnings should all be successful.
Example
For instance, if we were to use the recent friendly between England and Austria, selected odds at the time were as followed:
England to win – 4/9
Harry Kane to score first – 5/2
Kane to have 3+ shots on target – 13/8
England to have over 4.5+ corners – 4/9
The potential return on these selections as singles with a £1 stake on each is £9.02. If the same bets were used in a bet builder with a £1 stake, potential returns would be £13.68, although all selections would have to be correct, as one failed selection would mean the bet loses.
Remember: a bet builder is essentially an accumulator on the same event, so the more you add to it, the less likely it is to win. Equally, however, the odds are likely to increase, so it is always a case of assessing whether adding that selection – and the additional odds you receive as a result – is worth the risk.
Specials and Bonuses
Depending on the bookmaker you bet with, the good news doesn’t just stop at less risk and more potential winnings. A lot of bookmakers who have brought in the Bet Builder function, have also started to offer your stake back if one of your selections fails to win.
So, if you have managed to pick the first scorer, over 4.5 corners and a player to have 3 plus shots in a game, but the away side scores a late goal to spoil your correct score selection and thus your bet builder accumulator fails, the bookmaker could well refund your losing stake, dependent on current offers and their availability.
*Dependent on bookmaker, limited to number of selections and or total stakes. See relevant sites for their T&C’s.
