Alexa Grasso v Valentina Shevchenko UFC Fight Night Betting Tips & Predictions
Mexican fighter Alexa Grasso became UFC flyweight champion for the first time in her career when she forced Valentina Shevchenko to submit at UFC 283 in March.
Shevchenko was expected to make an eighth successful defence of her title, but Grasso had other ideas and she inflicted a first-ever flyweight loss for the Kyrgyzstan fighter and the first time she had ever been submitted.
The result surprised a lot of people. Grass went into this fight on the back of four successful victories. She had never really beaten anyone of note, so to tap out Shevchenko was massive for the women’s division.
Shevchenko has dominated the flyweight division for years and she won the title back in December 2018 when she beat Joanna Jedrzejczyk on points at UFC 231.
Shevchenko will be smarting from that defeat and will be going all out to prove she is the queen of the flyweight division. I am putting that defeat down to great work by Grasso, but I am expecting Shevchenko to bounce back and win this one on points.
I don’t only think she’ll win, I feel she has to win. If she loses again, I can see her retiring and she doesn’t look like she wants to end her career just yet.
