Leon Edwards v Kamaru Usman III UFC 286 Betting Tips & Predictions

Leon Edwards shocked the world when he became UFC Welterweight champion at UFC 278 with a fifth-round stoppage of Kamaru Usman.

Edwards – who was born in Jamaica – moved to the UK at the age of nine, so it’s safe to say he will have the majority of the O2 Arena crowd in his corner on Saturday evening.

This will be the third fight between the two – with the scores level at 1-1.

Usman defeated Edwards back in 2015 in a three-round bout which ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ won by decision.

After that win for Usman, his career skyrocketed. He continued to defeat anyone in his path and became the Welterweight champion at UFC 235 with a points win over Tyron Woodley.

He made five successful title defences against Colby Covington (twice), Jorge Masvidal (twice) and Gilbert Burns.

To be honest, Usman looked unbeatable – that was until he faced Edwards again.

Edwards had improved immensely since their last fight. He had recorded wins over Vicente Luque, Donald Cerrone, Rafael dos Anjos and Nate Diaz.

That win over Diaz made everyone sit up and take notice of Edwards. He earned his shot at Usman and took that opportunity with both hands.

Can Usman gain his revenge?

If this was in any other country than the UK, I would be backing Usman to snatch his title back. But it is in the UK and the crowd will be wild and hostile and all in favour of Edwards.

When he is struggling, the crowd will inspire him to keep going. I am going with Edwards getting his arm raised after five brutal rounds.
