There are just five Super League matches going ahead this weekend because of the World Club Challenge between St Helens and Sydney Roosters taking place on Saturday evening.
Don’t worry, there will still be some top-quality Super League action. Take a look at my first try scorer acca and see if you agree with me.
Super League Tips – James Clare 1st try scorer for Castleford Tigers vs Wakefield Trinity @ 10/1 Paddy Power
Castleford will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they take on local rivals Wakefield Trinity at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Friday evening. The Tigers are still struggling with a number of injuries, but they have a big enough squad to cope at the moment. They have two outstanding finishers on the wings in Derrell Olpherts and James Clare. It is the latter we are backing for the opening try of the game, he got on the score sheet in the defeat against Catalans Dragons last weekend and we expect him to open the scoring in round four.
Super League Tips – Jermaine McGillvary 1st try scorer for Huddersfield Giants vs Hull KR @ 8/1 Paddy Power
No-one expected Huddersfield to be the only team with a defeat heading in to round four. Granted, they have only played two games rather than three, but they have still yet to be beaten. That is largely due to the leadership skills of Aidan Sezer. The former Canberra Raiders star has been sensational at the start of the campaign and Giants fans hope that continues. Sezer is not going to get you 20 tries a season, but they do have a man that can. England and Great Britain winger Jermaine McGillvary can score from anywhere on the field. He can race full length or he can barge over from close range, we are backing him to grab the opening try against Hull KR.
Super League Tips – Blake Austin 1st try scorer for Warrington Wolves vs Toronto Wolfpack @ 13/2 Paddy Power
Warrington Wolves will be looking back to bounce back from their second defeat in three games when they take on bottom club Toronto Wolfpack on Friday evening. The Wolves come into this clash on the back of a surprise 18-8 defeat away at Wakefield Trinity in week three. They take on a Toronto Wolfpack side this Friday who have yet to win in Super League. They should have Sonny Bill Williams back from New Zealand after attending the birth of his child, while they have signed former Catalans Dragons player Tony Gigot on a four-week trial basis. I don’t think that will be enough to get them their first win. Warrington are a talented side and once Gareth Widdop and Blake Austin work up an understanding, they will be hard to beat. I’m going for Austin for the opening try in this game, his quick-thinking and turn of pace near to the line makes his dangerous.
