Australia v Samoa RLWC Semi-Final Tips & Predictions (Saturday 16:00 GMT)
Australia will be looking to make it three World Cup title wins in succession when they take on shock finalists Samoa at Old Trafford.
No matter how much we all want Samoa to cause one of the biggest upsets in rugby league, deep down we know that Australia will walk away with the trophy with a comfortable win under their belt.
The Kangaroos were pushed all the way in the semi-final when they edged out New Zealand 16-14 in an absolute classic.
Samoa needed a golden point extra time drop goal from Stephen Crichton to book their spot with a 27-26 win over host nation England.
That was a shock as England were expected to get through in the end. Unfortunately, I do not think Samoa will give the Aussies a game. This could end up a blowout score in the final 20 minutes.
Nathan Cleary is expected to start in the halves with Daly Cherry-Evans missing out, while winger Josh Addo-Carr will be looking to add to his try-scoring tally. He has 12 tries to his name, and even if he doesn’t score, he will still be crowned leading scorer of the tournament.
Samoa will be without Fa’manu Brown and Danny Levi with Chanel Harris-Tavita starting at hooker in what will be his final game ever.
Back the Kangaroos to win the game by 26-30 points. It will be an even contest for around an hour, but the Aussies will let loose in the final 20.
Back Addo-Carr to score three or more tries, while I also recommend you back Addo-Carr, Valentine Holmes, James Tedesco and Latrell Mitchell all to score tries.
