The Roosters have won the World Club Challenge on four separate occassions – the most alongside Wigan Warriors – while St Helens have been crowned the best in the world twice.

The Saints first won it in 2001 when they defeated Brisbane Broncos 20-18 with Chris Joynt, Paul Sculthorpe and Sean Long all crossing for tries at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton,

Six years later, the Broncos were back and looking for revenge. They didn’t get it as Saints narrowly beat the Australian champions 18-14 at the same venue.
