First Try Scorer Predictions & Tips: Leeds Rhinos v Hull Kingston Rovers (Friday 20:15 BST)
Thirteen-time Challenge Cup winners Leeds Rhinos go up against on-time winner Hull Kingston Rovers for a place in the semi-finals this weekend. In recent weeks, the Robins have beaten Wigan and suffered an agonising golden-point defeat at the hands of defending champions St Helens. They are improving, but this Friday they will be without star player Jordan Abdull after he was suspended for two matches for a ‘squirrel grab’ on St Helens’ James Bentley. They will miss Abdull immensely and I cannot see the Rhinos having too many problems. Richie Myler is in the form of his life at Leeds at the moment, while Konrad Hurrell continues to be a danger to teams close to the try line. I’m going to back the Tonga international centre to get the ball rolling with the opening try.
First Try Scorer Predictions & Tips: Hull FC v Wigan Warriors (Saturday 17:00 BST)
Having backed Oliver Gildart to score the opening try during Wigan Warriors’ win over Catalans Dragons last weekend, I’m seeing if I can continue my run in this market. Gildart was playing in only his second game since having shoulder surgery, and he went over in the South of France. Having Gildart back is a massive boost for the Warriors, but I’m not going to back the Great Britain centre this week. A lot of Wigan’s attacking success comes through the great work done by Jackson Hastings and Bevan French, and I’m backing the latter to terrorise the Hull Fc defence and dance his way over for the opening try.
