Who will be on the move when the football transfer market reopens again this summer?
Timo Werner to Liverpool @ 4/9 Paddy Power
Speculation surrounding the future of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has been rife for months now. It looked like it had come to a close when he signed a new deal with the Bundesliga side, but it has now been reported that he has a £51 million release clause until April. Liverpool already have three quality strikers at Anfield, but with clubs looking at both Roberto Firmino and Sade Mane, they may need to move in the transfer market themselves and Werner would be a good fit alongside Mo Salah.
Jadon Sancho To Manchester United @ 3/1 Paddy Power
Don’t be too surprised to see this in this list, Manchester United are going to be linked with every single available player during the summer. Quite a lot of Premier League clubs will be seeking out the availability of the England international, including his former club Manchester City. Sancho is going well at Borussia Dortmund, but he might not be used as much following the signing of Erling Haaland. If he moves back to England, he will be closely monitored by national manager Gareth Southgate on a regular basis that could benefit him in the long run.
Kai Havertz To Bayern Munich @ 4/1 Paddy Power
Kai Havertz has been dubbed the ‘new Mesut Ozil’, sometimes that could be a compliment and on others it could be classed as an insult. Anyway, it is obvious that the 20-year-old midfielder will not be at Beyer Leverkusen forever. A move will happen soon if he has enough ambition about himself. It’s more likely that he will want to stay in Germany, so Bayern Munich are the ones leading the chase for his signature, although Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain are reportedly showing an interest.
Kylian Mbappe To Real Madrid @ 7/2 Paddy Power
Kylian Mbappe is a quality player, but things look to be turning sour at Paris Saint Germain and the France international could be looking for a move away. He has already revealed that he is a fan of how Liverpool play, prompting many Reds to get excited that he could soon be at Anfield. I don’t think that is going to happen, players who are touted as one of the best in the world rarely come over to the Premier League in their peak because of the intensity of the football played in England. Lionel Messi is a perfect example. If Mbappe is to leave Paris, then expect to be unveiled as a Real Madrid player and not a Liverpool one.
Philippe Coutinho To Join Tottenham Hotspur @ 4/1 Paddy Power
It looks very likely that former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho will be on the move this summer – but where will he end up. The Brazilian left Liverpool in 2018 to join La Liga side Barcelona for over £100 million. Things didn’t work out for Coutinho at the Camp Nou and he was sent out on loan to Bayern Munich. It was a season-long loan with Munich having the option to make it permanent in the summer. It now looks like the German side don’t want him and he is not needed at Barca – so what next for the 27-year-old. Tottenham Hotspur need a big signing to get the fans excited again and Coutinho could be the answer, although Spurs have a reputation for stalling on big deals and missing out completely. Other English clubs in the mix are Chelsea, Manchester United and former club Liverpool.
