First Goalscorer Predictions & Tips: Manchester City v Real Madrid (Friday 20:00 BST)

There will be plenty of attacking talent on show at the Etihad Stadium on Friday night with some of the best finishers in the world looking to impress. Manchester City boast a squad full of talented attacking forwards with Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez, while you cannot forget the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden. As good as all those attacking players are, Real Madrid have the ultimate finisher in Karim Benzema. The French international has already scored 21 goals this season and has scored goals in three of Real Madrid’s last four matches, with two of them being the opening goals of the game. Expect him to be on the score sheet first to get things going in Manchester.

First Goalscorer Predictions & Tips: Bayern Munich v Chelsea (Saturday 20:00 BST)

Bayern Munich have a very talented attacking front line with Robert Lewandowski, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller all capable of getting goals. It is very difficult to look past Poland international Lewandowski. He has been scoring goals for fun, he has managed to find the back of the net 51 times this season. He has scored 11 goals already in the Champions League – including one against Chelsea in the first leg at Stamford Bridge. If he has sight of the goal, he will go for it. So, he will always be a good bet to score the opening goal of the game.

First Goalscorer Predictions & Tips: Rangers v St Mirren (Sunday 15:00 BST)

For Rangers to have a chance of winning the SPL title this year, they will need to make sure they score plenty of goals. The Old Firm games are a lottery we are know that, they need to win the so-called easier games and score a few in the process. If Rangers can keep hold of Alfredo Morelos then he is capable of scoring plenty of goals – as long as he doesn’t get himself sent off. Ryan Kent is handy in front of goal and they have just signed Kemar Roofe, while Jermain Defoe is still to come back from injury. So, Rangers do have the firepower, it is just a matter of waiting to see if they can find the back of the net on a regular basis. I expect Kemar Roofe to make his debut on Sunday and that he will also score, but I can’t see him starting the game so I wouldn’t risk putting him on as first goal scorer. My gut feeling says that Morelos will score, he will want to prove he is not a spent force and the more goals he scores now, the better move he will get in the future.

First Goalscorer Predictions & Tips: Manchester United v Copenhagen (Monday 20:00 BST)

Odion Ighalo got his chance to start up front against LASK Linz in their second leg win. He worked hard and failed to get on the score sheet, he will probably be back on the bench on Thursday with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likely to bring back the big guns as they look to end this quarter-final tie inside 90 minutes. If Solksjaer is serious about winning the Europa League then he needs to start the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial. They will create enough chances in the game to give them a great chance of winning this one quite comfortably. Bruno Fernandes has scored 10 goals for United since joining the club from Sporting CP, with six of them coming from the penalty spot. Manchester United have won a lot of penalties this season, so the chances of them getting one against Copenhagen is quite high. Fernandes has not missed a penalty since 2018, so if the Red Devils get a penalty then he isn’t going to miss.
