The 2019/20 Bundesliga campaign resumes over the course of this weekend and not only have we have picked out our favourite bets from the latest round of fixtures in Germany’s top flight of football, we have also picked out our favourite outright bets for the remainder of the campaign.
Bundesliga Predictions & Tips: Bayer Leverkusen v Wolfsburg (Tuesday 19:30 BST)
Bayer Leverkusen have restarted their season with back-to-back away games, and both have them have been resounding successes. Having returned with a 4-1 demolition of struggling Werder Bremen, Leverkusen stormed to a 3-1 victory at Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday afternoon to strengthen their grip on third place in the table and keep their slim title hopes alive. That win last weekend was their fifth straight in all competitions and they are now 12 games unbeaten, with 11 of those outings ending in victory. There are very few teams that can boast that sort of form, but can Leverkusen extend it with a victory in their first home game since March 7, when the destroyed Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0? Providing the opposition are a Wolfsburg side who were beaten at home by Borussia Dortmund last weekend and have now won just one of their last five games in all competitions. They are not in absolutely dreadful form – they have lost just two of their last 11 – but Leverkusen are looking great right now and should extend their win streak here. We should also see a few goals – Leverkusen’s last 15 competitive fixtures have produced at least two goals and over 2.5 total goals has been a winning bet on 13 of those occasions.
Bundesliga Predictions & Tips: RB Leipzig v Hertha Berlin (Wednesday 17:30 BST)
RB Leipzig were able to maintain their grip on third place at the weekend as they bounced back from the disappointing home draw against Freiburg with a 5-0 demolition of Mainz 05 away from home, but the pressure is firmly on them to continue winning because they have both Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach hot on their heels in the race for Champions League football. Next up for Leipzig is a home against a Hertha Berlin side who have been in outstanding form since the season resumed. They went into the sudden shutdown having won just twice in nine games, but since returning to action they have stormed to a 3-0 win at Hoffenheim and romped to a 4-0 success at home to Union Berlin. Hertha will rightly head to Leipzig brimming with confidence, but I expect to see their winning run come to an end here. Leipzig have been strong at home this season, losing only once, and star striker Timo Werner has seemingly rediscovered his lethal finishing tough. Werner was the star of the show last weekend as he ended a four-game goalless run in all competitions with a hat-trick, and while he may not claim the match ball here there is an excellent chance that he will at least set Leipzig on their way to victory.
