Grealish’s stock has risen considerably over the course of Villa’s first season back in the top flight, despite his team’s struggles, and the Midlands club will be bracing themselves for a summer transfer window that will undoubtedly see some big name clubs make a play for their most prized asset.
But if Grealish does move on, where will he go?
Bookmaker Paddy Power believe Manchester is his most likely destination with United considered 11/4 favourites to capture his signature ahead of Chelsea, who are 4/1 to lure the 24-year-old midfielder to Stamford Bridge this summer as manager Frank Lampard gets set to finally overhaul his squad after being hindered by a transfer ban since arriving.
“They’ve won just two league matches since the turn of the year and despite his club facing relegation from the Premier League, Manchester United are hot on Grealish,” a Paddy Power spokesperson told Bettingpro.com.
“We expect them to make their move on the Villa star when things heat up during the summer transfer window, which may just rescue him from being dumped from the top flight.”
Tottenham Hotspur are also considered contenders in the race to capture Grealish at odds of 11/2, while it is 6/1 that the England U21 international makes a move to soon-to-be-champions Liverpool before the close of the summer transfer window.
Leicester City are 9/1 to pip their more esteemed rivals to the midfielder’s signature this summer, with Manchester City out at 12/1 ahead of 14/1 Bayern Munich and 16/1 Arsenal.
