Ireland looks like they have just one chance to avoid a series defeat against the United Arab Emirates when they meet in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Will Ireland level the series, or will the hosts be victorious?
UAE v Ireland 4th ODI Betting Tips & Predictions: Match Winner
Ireland thought they had posted enough runs during their opening ODI match against the United Arab Emirates at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, but in reality, they were 20-25 runs short. The Irish posted 269-5 off their 50 overs with opener Paul Stirling top scoring with an unbeaten 131 with nine fours and four sixes. Skipper Andy Balbirnie also chipped in with 53 from 61 balls, but it wasn’t enough. UAE reached their target with six balls left to bowl, as both Chundangapoyil Rizwan and Muhammad Usman smashed centuries with Usman hitting the winning runs. I have to admit, this result shocked me, but credit has to go to the UAE for hanging around and refusing to buckle. I cannot see Ireland making the same mistake twice, and I am backing them to win game two and level the series.
UAE v Ireland 4th ODI Betting Tips & Predictions: Ireland Top Runs Scorer
Ireland were not a million miles away in the opening ODI game last Friday, and they will be well aware of what they need to improve on if they are to level the series. Since that defeat, two matches have had to be postponed, so Ireland need to win this one to avoid a series loss. They will be looking to get closer to a target of 300 if they bat first, and with the likes of Paul Stirling, Kevin O’Brien, Andy Balbirnie and Harry Tector, they are capable of posting a big total. They will understand the pitch more after game one, and I am backing skipper Balbirnie to add to the half century he posted on Friday by top scoring for the tourists.
UAE v Ireland 4th ODI Betting Tips & Predictions: Ireland Top Wicket Taker
The majority of Ireland’s bowlers were expensive in their ODI defeat last Friday. Craig Young went for over 57 runs with no success, while Mark Adair and Andy McBrine were also wicketless for 48 and 49 runs respectively. Both Barry McCarthy and Curtis Campher collected two wickets each, and these two will need to be on top form again. McCarthy was expensive as well as he was knocked for 60 runs, so I am backing Campher to once again be the form bowler with the most wickets for the least number of runs.
