The Ashes Betting Tips: Australia v England Ashes 5th Test Day 2 Betting Tips & Predictions
England once again proved what we have seen throughout the Ashes series – they have no killer instinct.
The reason England are 3-0 down and the Ashes are gone is that they don’t know how to take the game by the scruff of the neck.
For example, they had Australia struggling at 12-3. But by the close of the play, Australia had hit back to 241 for the loss of six wickets.
David Warner (0), Usman Khawaja (6) and Steve Smith (0) all went cheaply. Marnus Labuschagne (44), Travis Head (101) and Cameron Green (74) got the hosts back into the game.
Rain stopped play to stop England from taking any more wickets. They need to come out all guns blazing on day two. They may have to do it without pace bowler Ollie Robinson who appeared to pick up an injury while bowling.
I still remain optimistic that England can win the Test. I expect them to get the four remaining wickets they need with Australia failing to reach 300 and then set off on gaining a first-innings lead.
I am backing England to have an unbeaten 50+ partnership with their openers. A big ask, but I have faith for once. I am backing captain Joe Root and Zak Crawley to both score 50+ runs each.
