Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: Kolkata Knight Riders v Mumbai Indians (Wednesday 15:00 BST)

Kolkata Knight Riders kick off their IPL campaign on Wednesday when they take on a Mumbai Indians side coming into this game on the back of a defeat. The Knight Riders will be hoping that Eoin Morgan finds his form as well as the boundary rope. Morgan is one of the best players in the world when it comes to the short format of the game, if he gets his eye in then the Knight Riders could win this one quite comfortably. As well as Morgan in their batting line-up, they have Andre Russell and Tom Banton who are no stranger to big hits. With ball in hand, the Knight Riders will be hoping Australian international Pat Cummins will be their go-to man to grab the decisive wickets at both ends of the innings. The Mumbai Indians will still be smarting from their five-wicket defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. Having been put into bat, the Indians made 162-9 with Saurabh Tiwary top scoring with 42 runs from 31 deliveries. The Indians know that a successive defeat will put them behind the eight ball, and unfortunately for them I think that is going to happen. I get excited whenever Morgan takes to the crease, so I am backing him to top score for the Knight Riders as they claim victory. As well as Cummins, they have Sunil Narine in their bowling attack and although he is not yet a regular in the West Indies international side, he is a capable bowler and I am backing him to collect the most wickets.

Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: Kings XI Punjab v Royal Challengers Bangalore (Thursday 15:00 BST)

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when they take on Kings XI Punjab at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday. The Challengers recorded a 10-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. They were put into bat by the Sunrisers with Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers both hitting half centuries as they made 163-5 off their 20 overs. It looked like the Challengers were going to crash to defeat as the Sunrisers looked in control with Jonny Bairstow hitting 61 runs from 43 deliveries, but they collapsed from 121-3 to 153 all out with Yuzvendra Chahal claiming three wickets and Shivam Dube and Navdeep Saini taking two each. The Kings were forced into a super over as Chris Jordan gave his wicket away with the final ball to Marcus Stoinis against Delhi Capitals as they both made 156-8 off their 20 overs. In the super over, the Kings only made two and lost both wickets in three balls to set Delhi a target of three. They knocked that total without losing a wicket. I fancy the Challengers to do well this year, so I am backing them to win this one with Australian captain Aaron Finch finding a bit of form with the bat and scoring the most runs. Kings bowler Jordan will not be happy at blowing a great chance of victory when he was batting, so I am backing him to come back flying with the ball and take the most wickets.

Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: Chennai Super Kings v Delhi Capitals (Friday 15:00 BST)

Chennai Super Kings will be looking to bounce back from their first IPL defeat of the season when they take on Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday. The Super Kings, who opened their season with a five-wicket win over Mumbai Indians, failed to make it successive wins as they went down by 16 runs against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday. In a high-scoring match, the Super Kings bowled first with the Royals making 216-7 off 20 overs. As encouraged by BettingPro.com, Sam Curran was the leading wicket taker for the Super Kings with figures of 3-33. In reply, the Super Kings could only reach 200-6 with Faf du Plessis once again shining with the bat with 72 runs from 37 deliveries. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have only played one game this season and they managed to record a Super Over victory over Kings XI Punjab after both teams made 157-8 off their 20 overs. The Super Over saw the take two wickets for just two runs, before reaching the target of three off the same number of balls. Delhi could have easily lost the game before the Super Over when Punjab’s Chris Jordan was caught off the last ball of the over going for the win. I’m backing the Super Kings to make it three wins from three, while Du Plessis is currently leading the way at the top of the run leader board with 130 runs from two matches. I’m backing the South African to once again get among the runs and score the most for Chennai, while England bowler Sam Curran will be full of confidence following his display last time out, so I’m backing him to add to the four wickets he already has this season.
