Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: Kolkata Knight Riders v Royal Challengers Bangalore (Wednesday 15:00 BST)

Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore both go in search of a win that will keep them in the hunt for a place off place in the Indian Premier League when they lock horns at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Wednesday. Victory for the Knight Riders would see them move level on points with the Challengers. Bangalore come into this game on the back of a win over Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets. The Challengers bowled first, and Chris Morris was on fire as he took 4-26 as they reduced the Royals to 177-7. In reply, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers were in fine form as they hit 43 and 55 respectively to win the game with two balls to spare. The Knight Riders needed a Super Over to see off Sunrisers Hyderabad as they both hit 163 off their 20 overs. The Sunrisers had a chance to win the game as they needed two runs off the final ball, but they could only register one leg bye. In the Super Over, the Sunrisers equalled the lowest total as they lost both wickets for just two runs with David Warner and Abdul Samad both removed by Lockie Ferguson. Kolkata then knocked off the total with two leg byes sealing the win on the fourth delivery. This game is crucial for both teams in their play-off journey, so I am backing the Royal Challengers Bangalore to register their seventh win of the campaign. Kohli and De Villiers are both capable of batting Bangalore to victory, so I am backing the former to once again let the willow fly and add to the 347 runs he has already scored by top scoring. Eoin Morgan has been in good form for the Knight Riders, the England captain hit 34 from 23 balls last time out and has scored 248 runs this season, so I am expecting him to score the most for the Knight Riders.

Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: Rajasthan Royals v Sunrisers Hyderabad (Thursday 15:00 BST)

Rajasthan Royals will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Indian Premier League when they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday. The Royals are currently fifth on the league standings and know victory this week will boost their chances of making the play-offs, while the Sunrisers are one place and two points behind their opponents. The Royals come into this game on the back of a low scoring victory over Chennai Super Kings. The Super Kings opted to bat first, and they could only 125-5 as Jofra Archer, Kartik Tyagi, Shreyas Gopal and Rahul Tewatia all taking a wicket each. In reply, they knocked off their target total with 2.3 overs to spare as England international Jos Buttler came in at number five and smashed an unbeaten 70 off 48 balls to seal the victory. The Sunrisers fell down on the wrong side of a Super Over against Kolkata Knight Riders after they both reached 163 off their 20 overs. The Sunrisers blew the chance of victory as they needed two off the final ball but could only record a single leg bye to take it to a Super Over. They then recorded the joint-lowest total in an IPL Super Over as they were reduced to 2-2, with the Knight Riders knocking that off with two balls remaining. Sunrisers captain David Warner cut a frustrated figure as he saw his side throw victory away, unfortunately for the Aussie I believe he will be just as frustrated on Thursday as I am backing the Royals to win this one. Both teams have some talent in their batting line-ups, Buttler loves this format of the game and he has already hit 262 runs this season, so I am backing him to top score for the Royals. The Sunrisers have the likes of Warner, Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson in their line-up and I am backing England’s Bairstow to score the most runs for the Sunrisers to add to the 316 he has already scored.

Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: Chennai Super Kings v Mumbai Indians (Friday 15:00 BST)

Defending champions Mumbai Indians will be looking to bounce back from their five-hour energy sapping defeat at the hands of Kings XI Punjab when they take on Chennai Super Kings at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday. The Indians had to go through 40 overs and two Super Overs and still failed to come away with a victory. Both teams made 176-6 from their first 20 overs, before again scoring the same total in the first Super Over as they reached five from six balls. The Kings XI finally got over the line as they reached the target of 12 with two balls to spare. The Super Kings come into this game on the back of a disappointing seven wicket defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals. This was a low-scoring affair with Chennai only managing to score 125-5 with Ravindra Jadeja showing he is no slouch with the bat as he made an unbeaten 35. That total was never going to be enough and an unbeaten 70- from Jos Buttler saw the Royals home with 2.3 overs left to bowl. Quinton de Kock top scored for Mumbai in their last match with 53 from 43 balls to take his season’s tally 322, so I am backing South African to once again score the most runs for the Indians. With ball in hand, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been crucial at important times and has already picked up 15 wickets from nine matches. I am backing him to once again be their go to bowler and claim the most victims with Mumbai Indians registering their seventh win of the campaign.
