Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: Winner

A big selection of the best Twenty20 cricketers in the world will descend on India during September through to November for the 2020 Indian Premier League. All of the eight teams have very strong squads this year, but the Royal Challengers Bangalore look a little bit special this time around. Once again, Virat Kohli will lead the team as captain. Kohli is one of the best players in the world, last year he managed to score 464 runs from 14 matches. If he recreates that kind of form this year, then the Challengers will be there and there abouts. It is not just about Kohli, runs will also come from the likes of AB de Villiers, Aaron Finch and Gurkeerat Singh. They look tasty with the ball in hand as well, pace bowlers Kane Richardson and Dale Steyn will trouble some of the best batsmen in the world, while Moeen Ali will contribute with bat and ball. The Challengers look a settled outfit and have matchwinners all over the park. They will take some stopping.

Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: Top Four

As I have already mentioned, all the squads are loaded with talented cricketers. I like the look of the squad that Rajasthan Royals have put together. Which ever team managed to secure the services of Ben Stokes would always have an outside chance of success. The England World Cup winner was not as effective during his first two years at the club, but he is in the form of his life. He will be looking to score over 200 runs in the campaign for the first time in his IPL career. The Royals don’t just have Stokes in their arsenal, they also have Australian Steve Smith – he has to be the best batsman in the game today – if Smith and Stokes can shine with the bat, then they will win more than they lose, and if they fail then Jos Buttler can come in and hit a quick 30 or 40. Their bowling attack will also have Stokes in it, but they also have the likes of Jofra Archer, Tom Curran, Varun Aaron and Ankit Rajpoot. All five of them are capable of taking wickets at crucial times.

Indian Premier League Predictions & Tips: To Finish Bottom

It’s difficult to say that any squad is a poor one in the IPL this year, but my tip for finishing bottom is Kings XI Punjab. Don’t get me wrong, they have some top players in their squad, I just believe there are much better squads in the tournament this year. Chris Gayle will always be a threat, but it’s safe to say he can also be a little bit hit and miss. If he is enjoying his game, then he can be a major threat. If he isn’t, then he is nothing more than a passenger. Looking at their bowling line-up, they have some good players but nothing that really strikes fear into any batting line-up. The likes of Chris Jordan, Sheldon Cottrell and Mohammed Shami will take wickets, but whether they can do it on a regular basis with the game on the line, only time will tell.
