England v Australia 3rd ODI Predictions & Tips: England’s Top Batsman

England can be seen as quite fortunate to be level in this three-match ODI series as their batting on Sunday left a lot to be desired. They were lucky to make 231-9 and their score was only made respectable with some late hitting from Tom Curran and Adil Rashid as they made 37 and 35 respectively. Captain Eoin Morgan top scored with 42 from 52 balls, but it was never easy for the hosts. They need to perform a lot better with the bat on Wednesday if they are to win the series, I would love to see Jonny Bairstow bat all the way through, but his timing and confidence at the moment is well short of what is expected. Despite finding any real rhythm, Joe Root battled away to a score of 39 off 73 deliveries – not a great strike rate – but I am backing the Test captain to finally hit some form and bat England to victory like he has so many times in the past.

England v Australia 3rd ODI Predictions & Tips: Australia’s Top Bowler

Australia have bowled well in this series with spinner Adam Zampa leading the way with seven wickets from two matches. He is getting a lot out of the pitch and causing the England batsman a whole host of problems. In the first game, he returned figures of 4-55 and took the scalps of Bairstow, Morgan, Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes. On Sunday in defeat, he picked up figures of 3-36 with Root, Morgan and Sam Billings his victims this time. I’m backing the 28-year-old to get the best out of a wearing Old Trafford pitch and be the pick of the bowlers for Australia.

England v Australia 3rd ODI Predictions & Tips: Most Fours

England cannot bat as poorly as they did on Sunday, they really struggled for any kind of form and had to be bailed out by two of their lower order batsmen in Tom Curran and Adil Rashid. The boundaries are pretty huge at Old Trafford, and that was evident with only five sixes being hit on Sunday. Unless you are Eoin Morgan in a World Cup game, then maximums are hard to come by. Fours, on the other hand, are much easier to collect. England hit 22 fours in their win at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Morgan and Tom Curran hitting five apiece. I’m backing England to hit the most boundaries along the floor on Wednesday.
