2021 T20 World Cup Cricket Betting Tips & Predictions

Scotland v Papua New Guinea T20 World Cup Group B Betting Tips & Predictions (Tuesday, 11:00 BST)

Scotland will be looking to move a step closer to qualifying for the Super 12 stage. They take on Papua New Guinea at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground on Tuesday. Scotland come into this game on the back of a six-run victory over Bangladesh. Scotland were put into bat, and they went on to post 140 for the loss of nine wickets. Chris Greaves rescued the innings for Scotland with 45 from 28 balls as he helped them recover from 53-6. Bangladesh fell short with the loss of seven wickets. Bradley Wheal claimed three wickets, while Greaves took two himself as Bangladesh could only post 134. Papua New Guinea will be looking for a major improvement following their 10-wicket loss at the hands of Oman. PNG were put into bat, and they posted 129-9 with captain Assad Vala top-scoring with 56. Oman had no problems in reaching their target. They got home without losing a single wicket with 6.2 overs still left to be bowled. I feel Scotland will take full control of a far from intimidating bowling attack. I expect Scotland to cruise to victory with skipper Kyle Coetzer making amends for his duck against Bangladesh with the most runs. When PNG get to bat, I expect Vala to be the pick of their batsmen by top-scoring in defeat.

Oman v Bangladesh T20 World Cup Group B Betting Tips & Predictions (Tuesday, 15:00 BST)

Oman will be looking to make it two wins from two in the T20 World Cup on Tuesday. They will take on a Bangladesh side who lost their opener at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground. Oman cruised to a 10-wicket victory over Papua New Guinea on Sunday. Oman won the toss and put PNG into bat. Zeeshan Maqsood came away with figures of 4-20, while Bilal Khan and Kaleemullah took two wickets apiece as they restricted PNG to 129-9. It wasn’t the hardest of totals to chase down. They managed to reach their target with 6.2 overs to spare without losing a single wicket. Jatinder Singh top-scored with an unbeaten 73, while Aqib Ilyas made 50 not out. Bangladesh pushed Scotland all the way but suffered a six-run loss. Bangladesh opted to bowl and took nine wickets with Mahedi Hasan claiming three wickets as Scotland posted 140. They were unable to chase the runs down as they could only manage 134-7. Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored for Bangladesh with 38 from 36 balls. Oman were impressive against PNG, so I am backing them to beat Bangladesh. After top-scoring with 73, I am tipping Singh to once again top the list. Bangladesh will be determined to bounce back from defeat, and although they have been in decent form, I just can’t see them beating Oman. When they do get to bat, I expect opener Liton Das to top score.

Namibia v Netherlands T20 World Cup Group A Betting Tips & Predictions (Wednesday, 11:00 BST)

Namibia and the Netherlands will be battling it out for their first win of the T20 World Cup on Wednesday. Namibia suffered a seven-wicket loss at the hands of Sri Lanka, while the Dutch suffered the same fate against Ireland. Namibia were put into bat by Sri Lanka, and they were bowled out for just 96. Craig Williams top-scored for Namibia with 29, but that total was never going to be enough. Sri Lanka knocked off that weak total with 6.3 overs to spare. They lost three wickets, but they were never going to lose the game. Avishka Fernando (30 not out) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (42 not out) saw them home comfortably. The Netherlands opted to bat first, and they were bowled out for 106 on the final ball of the innings. Opener Max O’Dowd was the only one who showed any backbone. He made 51 from 47 deliveries. That total was never going to be enough. Ireland got home with 4.5 overs to spare. I think it’s safe to say that neither Namibia or the Netherlands will qualify for the Super 12 stage. I am backing the Netherlands to win this one with O’Dowd top-scoring. For Namibia, I am also backing an opener with Stephan Baard making amends following his poor score of seven last time out.

Sri Lanka v Ireland T20 World Cup Group A Betting Tips & Predictions (Wednesday, 15:00 BST)

Sri Lanka and Ireland lock horns in Group A on Wednesday in what could be the match of the tournament so far. Sri Lanka got off to a winning start on Monday when they defeated Namibia by seven wickets. Ireland also ensured they started the World Cup on the right foot with a seven-wicket success over the Netherlands. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. They dominated Namibia right from the off and bowled them out for 96. Maheesh Theekshana was the pick of the bowlers with 3-25, while Lahiru Kumara and Wanindu Hasaranga claimed two wickets apiece. Sri Lanka then went and cruised to victory with 6.3 overs left to bowl. They only lost three weeks with B Rajapaksa and Avishka Fernando getting them home with 42 and 30 respectively. Ireland got home in their win over the Netherlands with 4.5 overs left to bowl. The Dutch opted to bat, and they were bowled out for 106. Curtis Campher was the pick of the bowlers with 4-26, while Mark Adair claimed three of his own. The Irish then stormed to victory with a loss of just three weeks. Opener Paul Stirling hit 30 from 39 balls, while Gareth Delany smashed 44 off 29 deliveries. This should be an entertaining encounter, but I am going for Sri Lanka to take the points and move a step closer to qualifying for the Super 12 stage. Sri Lanka have plenty of players capable of scoring big runs. I am backing Avishka Fernando to add to the 30 he scored on Monday by top-scoring. For Ireland, Stirling looks in fine form again, so I am tipping him to lead the way for the Irish.
