Tomas Berdych’s Singapore Slammers vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga’s Manila Mavericks live stream, schedule and match preview

The DBS Singapore Slammers, headed by Tomas Berdych, Lleyton Hewitt and Nick Kyrgios, trail at the bottom of the table as the third leg of the IPTL in New Delhi draws to a close, but Berdych will be determined to lead his team to a win.

The Singapore Slammers vs the Manila Mavericks are scheduled on court in Delhi at 4pm (10.30am GMT) and the match will be broadcast on Sky Sports 3 in the UK. Online coverage is available - register to view here:

The Manila Mavericks are tied for second place with the UAE Royals and have gained in confidence since Mark Philippoussis joined them – the Aussie, who replaced the injured Carlos Moya, is unbeaten in IPTL action so far and the Mavericks will be keen to pull ahead of the Royals, who have to face the leading Indian Aces in the later match.

Tomas Berdych vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Big-serving Czech world no. 7 Tomas Berdych has been instrumental in the wins that the Singapore Slammers have managed to get so far, but he will have his hands full against the charismatic Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who stepped up as the Mavericks’ main singles player after Andy Murray departed the IPTL.

Berdych leads the ATP World Tour head-to-head with Tsonga 5-2 and was impressive against Roger Federer on Sunday, although he didn’t get the singles win for which he was rested in favour of Lleyton Hewitt on Saturday. It will be important for Berdych to get the win against Tsonga in what could be a tight match.

Daniela Hantuchova vs Kirsten Flipkens Kirsten Flipkens and Daniela Hantuchova have been largely overpowered in women’s singles against the more star-powered teams, while both – especially Flipkens – have done some good work in mixed doubles. Hantuchova has largely appeared nervous and uncomfortable when taking the court and couldn’t close out Ana Ivanovic on Sunday despite having the lead. Flipkens had a similar problem against Caroline Wozniacki on Sunday but should still be more than equal to beating Hantuchova.

Lleyton Hewitt/Nick Kyrgios vs Daniel Nestor/Jo-Wilfried Tsonga This could be pivotal in the overall outcome of the match as both teams have been playing excellent tennis, with Tsonga combining well with Nestor as the injured Treat Huey rested to edge Nenad Zimonjic and Marin Cilic – no mean feat. The combination of Tsonga’s power and Nestor’s doubles expertise could be a potent one in this set unless Kyrgios steps up the net game he played on Sunday.

Daniela Hantuchova/Bruno Soares vs Daniel Nestor/Kirsten Flipkens Thumped 0-6 by Roger Federer and Sania Mirza, Hantuchova and Soares are unlikely to get the win against the team of Nestor and Flipkens, who have been scoring some excellent wins.

Pat Rafter vs Mark Philippoussis It’s an all-Aussie battle in the legend’s singles. Pat Rafter had a very good win against a discombobulated Pete Sampras on Sunday, but Mark Philippoussis is unbeaten since joining the Manila Mavericks in lieu of the injured Carlos Moya.

Rules reminder The International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) has a unique format, which pits each of the four teams against each other in a series of matches. Each match consists of five sets: Men’s singles, women’s singles, mixed doubles, men’s doubles and men’s legends doubles, with the team that wins the most games across all five sets winning the match. Sets are played first to six games, with a five-minute shoot-out at 5-5 and no-ad scoring.

The Singapore Slammers vs the Manila Mavericks are scheduled on court in Delhi at 4pm (10.30am GMT)
