Victory would see O'Sullivan take a significant step towards landing a record-breaking seventh Masters title and becoming the first player to retain this trophy since Paul Hunter 15 years ago.

The local favourite survived a major scare from Liang Wenbo in the opening round before prevailing in a last-frame decider and went on to defeat Neil Robertson 6-3 in the Quarter-Finals despite being far from at his brilliant best.

O'Sullivan knows he will be required to move through the gears as he comes up against one of the sport's form horses bidding to avenge his defeat to 'The Rocket' in the Semi-Finals of last month's UK Championship.

O'Sullivan was required to produce a stunning 130 break in the deciding frame to clinch victory in a high quality battle, and their respective form suggests a similar standard can be expected at a sold-out Ally Pally.

Scottish Open winner Fu has admitted he is enjoying some of the best form of his career to date and has underlined his title credentials with a 6-5 defeat of Judd Trump and a 6-2 rout of Mark Allen en route to this stage.

The Hong Kong ace, runner-up to Ding Junhui at Wembley Arena six years ago, will be quietly confident of silencing the partisan London crowd and recording a first win over the five-time World Champion since 2009.

O'Sullivan is unbeaten in the last six meetings between the two players and notably thrashed Fu 6-1 in the Quarter-Finals here two years ago before suffering his only defeat at the Semi-Final hurdle of this competition to date.

Their latest show-down gets underway at 1pm GMT and will be contested over the best of 11 frames at the Alexandra Palace in London.

Either 2016 runner-up Barry Hawkins, 2011 winner Ding Junhui or ninth seed Joe Perry awaits the winner in the Final on Sunday.
