Best bets for Saturday June 24

Hossein Vafaei to lead after four frames @ EVS with Bet365

Iran's Vafaei was handed a walkover in the opening round due to the late withdrawal of Mark King and thus kicks off his season with a clash against York's Paul S Davison.

Vafaei underlined his calibre with a run to the Semi-Finals of the China Open back in April and is well-fancied to kick on and make further inroads on the ranking list this term.

Davison pulled off an impressive 4-2 win over Zhou Yuelong on Friday but could have his work cut out if he is to repeat the feat, with the value lying with his opponent to lead either 3-1 or have the match wrapped up after four frames at even money.

One of the stand-out ties of the Second Round sees former UK Champion Maguire up against emerging star Lines as they battle it out for a place in the latter stages.

Magurie kicked off with a 4-0 whitewash of Gerard Greene on Friday, while Lines enjoyed a commanding 4-1 win over Christopher Keogan.

Taking into account the short format and the attacking credentials of these two players, it's difficult to envisage either running away with this one, and although Maguire is the short-priced favourite, expect at least six frames to be contested.

Sam Baird to win @ 4/6 with Ladbrokes

Baird aims to follow up his ruthless 4-0 whitewash of Michael White when he takes on Thailand's Noppon Saengkham in the Last 32.

Typically, Baird has been the more consistent performer of the two in recent seasons and will be quietly confident of mounting a strong run this weekend in the absence of a number of top 16 stars.

Saengkham, the world number 64, has not made it beyond the Last 32 stage of a world ranking event since last April's China Open and that wait looks like being extended by the 29-year-old from Devon.

How to bet on the Riga Masters

Betting on the Riga Masters could not be simpler, with a range of pre-match, outright and in-play markets at your fingertips via the majority of leading sports bookmakers.

To place a bet on the Riga Masters, simply go to the home page of your chosen bookmaker on either the desktop site or mobile app and head to the A-Z sports menu.

From there, select Snooker > Riga Masters and locate the match or market you wish place a bet on. Outrights, match coupons for accumulators and in-play markets are then listed on the interface. Compile your bet by clicking on the odds which will then add it to your betslip.

On the bet slip, you can then key in your stake and the type of bet you wish to place, for example, single, double, accumulator. Once your bet has been placed, keep an eye out for the cash-out option while your bets are still open, which is offered by most of the leading firms.

Markets offered on the Riga Masters

Typically, the top bookmakers for snooker in general including Bet365, Betfred and Coral are also the go-to firms for placing bets on the Riga Masters.

Main markets include match result - simply betting on which player will win the tie and frame handicaps - whereby a virtual advantage or disadvantage to either player is awarded in order to even the field, for example a +2.5 frames handicap bet would be for Player A or B to win the match if 2.5 frames were to be added to their final tally.

A two-way market for the total number of frames is a sensible bet if the contest appears too close to call on paper and is not reliant on either player to win. For example backing over 5.5 frames in a best of seven match is covering the total number of frames amounting to either six or seven.

Punters can also bet on the number of centuries breaks in any given match, including a total number for either player or Player A or B to compile the most 100+ breaks. Significant odds of around 25/1 are often available for one player to produce snooker's holy grail - a maximum 147 break.

Other notable snooker betting markets include correct score for those with a precise prediction, as well as whether or not the match will go to a deciding frame.
