The ninth ranking event of the season features 64 players in action across seven days, as they vie for the trophy and the lucrative £85,000 top prize.

Mark Allen has dominated the event since its move to the snooker hotbed of China, claiming back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013.

The Ulsterman aims to secure an unprecedented hat-trick, but faces stiff competition from a crop of the world's elite stars, including century machine Neil Robertson, Mark Selby, Judd Trump and home hero - Ding Junhui.

With the season in the midst of its business end, heading towards the Crucible crescendo in mid-April, the top cueists will be aiming to hit the ground running in an important triple-header of events in China: the APTC, World Open and China Open.

The World Open incorporates the new flat draw format, with the field of players having being determined following the qualifying stages at the Barnsley Metrodome in December.

All matches up to and including the Quarter-Finals will be played over the best of nine frames, with the Semi-Finals best of 11 and the final best of 19.

The tournament runs from March 10-16 at the Hainan International Exhibition Center in Haikou, China.
