Champion of Champions Day Five Tips

O'Sullivan -3.5 frames handicap @ 5/6 with Paddy Power

Ronnie O'Sullivan aims to take a step closer to a third Champion of Champions crown by overcoming underdog Anthony Hamilton in the Semi-Finals in Coventry on Friday evening.

The reigning Masters and English Open champion thrashed Neil Robertson 4-1 before sensationally whitewashing rival John Higgins 6-0 on Thursday night to win Group Four and emphatically banish his shock First Round exit in last week's International Championship.

World number 27 Hamilton is enjoying a second wind in his career on the back of his maiden ranking triumph at the German Masters earlier this year but after defeating Ding Junhui and Ryan Day to win Group One, this next test could prove a bridge too far.

O'Sullivan has won nine of the eleven previous meetings between the pair dating back to 1995 and it looks like taking something special from 'The Sheriff' to deny the five-time World Champion a place in a fourth Champion of Champions final.

O'Sullivan has dropped just one frame en route to this stage and should punish Hamilton for any mistakes among the balls; expect 'The Rocket' to comfortably prevail by at least a four-frame margin.

Over 1.5 match centuries @ 11/10 with Paddy Power

O'Sullivan powered in a brace of century breaks on the way to his rout of Higgins last night and will be hopeful of picking up from where he left off.

The world number seven should be presented with his fair share of scoring opportunities in this best of 11 clash and is well-fancied to add to his ton tally as he chases the 1,000-mark in his career.

Hamilton made a 133 in his win over Day, proving he is more than capable of killing off frames in one visit. Expect the duo to serve up at least two centuries between them at a tasty price of 11/10.

How to bet on the Champion of Champions

Betting on the Champion of Champions could not be simpler, with a range of pre-match, outright and in-play markets at your fingertips via the majority of leading sports bookmakers.

To place a bet on the Champion of Champions, simply go to the home page of your chosen bookmaker on either the desktop site or mobile app and head to the A-Z sports menu.

From there, select Snooker > Champion of Champions and locate the match or market you wish place a bet on. Outrights, match coupons for accumulators and in-play markets are then listed on the interface. Compile your bet by clicking on the odds which will then add it to your betslip.

On the bet slip, you can then key in your stake and the type of bet you wish to place, for example, single, double, accumulator. Once your bet has been placed, keep an eye out for the cash-out option while your bets are still open, which is offered by most of the leading firms.

Markets offered on the Champion of Champions

Typically, the top bookmakers for snooker in general including Betfred, William Hill and Coral are also the go-to firms for placing bets on the Champion of Champions.

Main markets include match result - simply betting on which player will win the tie and frame handicaps - whereby a virtual advantage or disadvantage to either player is awarded in order to even the field, for example a +2.5 frames handicap bet would be for Player A or B to win the match if 2.5 frames were to be added to their final tally.

A two-way market for the total number of frames is a sensible bet if the contest appears too close to call on paper and is not reliant on either player to win. For example backing over 5.5 frames in a best of seven match is covering the total number of frames amounting to either six or seven.

Punters can also bet on the number of centuries breaks in any given match, including a total number for either player or Player A or B to compile the most 100+ breaks. Significant odds of around 25/1 are often available for one player to produce snooker's holy grail - a maximum 147 break.

Other notable snooker betting markets include correct score for those with a precise prediction, as well as whether or not the match will go to a deciding frame.
