The 2015 Australian Open reaches the Quarter-Final stage in Bendigo on Friday, and we're backing young gun Michael White to continue his rampant run Down Under.

A successful day four saw our 9/2 four-fold and total frames single land a tidy profit, and we're retaining the faith in the favourites to safely progress.

Backing Jamie Jones in handicap market paid dividends on Thursday as he thrashed Mark Selby 5-1, but the former Crucible quarter-finalist looks to have his work cut out if he is to sustain that level of performance.

At world number 40, Jones is the lowest ranked player left standing in the competition and meets his fellow countryman White for the first time in a world ranking event.

White is enjoying the most fruitful spell of his young career, and the Indian Open champion emphasised his battling qualities by edging out Ali Carter 5-4 on Thursday.

His superior frame-on-frame consistency and high confidence should see him over the line against the 27-year-old appearing in only his second major Quarter-Final.

Four-time World Champion John Higgins steps up his pursuit of a 27th career ranking title when he faces the in-form Joe Perry.

Welsh Open champion Higgins has enjoyed a welcome return to form in 2015 and has his sights firmly set on a maiden triumph Down Under after making light work of Michael Georgiou and Fergal O'Brien in the early rounds.

Perry has regularly fallen at this hurdle down the years and could fall foul to the Scotsman's pinpoint safety and ability to overturn large deficits here.

Judd Trump aims to take another step towards defending a major title for the first time in his career by overcoming world number 15 - Stephen Maguire - in the first of two sessions on day five.

Young sensation Trump has produced a pair of emphatic performances en route to this stage, dropping just two frames in victories over Jack Lisowski and Ian Burns.

The world number six appears to have picked up from where he left off at the back end of last season and remains the favourite to bring the trophy back to the UK this weekend.

Maguire knows he can ill-afford to gift-wrap the Bristolian any chances among the balls or could find himself rooted to his seat for long spells.

Two of this week's giant-killers lock horns as former Championship League winner Martin Gould faces the much-improved Matthew Selt in a tie simply too close to call.

Selt has prevailed from two last-frame deciders en route to the last eight, while Gould's 5-4 win over Marco Fu was followed by a 5-3 defeat of Michael Holt. Expect this one to go all the way.

Friday's recommended bets with Bet365:

  • Four-fold: Higgins and White to win, Trump -1.5 handicap and Selt v Gould over 7.5 frames @ 15/2

  • Double: Higgins v Perry and Trump v Maguire over 0.5 total match centuries @ 15/8

  • Four-fold: Over 7.5 frames in all four matches @ 10/1
