Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves betting tips - Sandow to guide Wolves to narrow Super League win

  • Wigan host Warrington at 2000 BST on Friday
  • Gelling and Bateman out for Wigan
  • Ormsby and Philbin named in Warrington squad

The top two teams in Super League lock horns this Friday with Wigan Warriors playing host to the Warrington Wolves at the DW Stadium.

Betfred match odds: Wigan 8/11, Draw 20/1, Warrington 6/5

Wigan versus Warrington is one fierce rivalry and the Wolves love nothing more than putting one over on the Warriors – they would get double satisfaction if they did it on Wigan’s own patch.

Warrington lead the way at the top of Super League on points difference, while Wigan are hot on their tail as they have both won seven and lost one.

Wigan are the home side and they have lost just one Super League game at the DW Stadium in the last 22 months, their amazing run of form came to an end last month when they were turned over by Widnes Vikings.

Warriors coach Shaun Wane is able to bring back England international Liam Farrell for this one, while former Widnes star Willie Isa also returns from injury.

The Warriors will be without Anthony Gelling and John Bateman with knee and concussion problems respectively, youngster Jack Higginson has been named in the squad for the first time and will be hoping for his Super League debut.

Warrington coach Tony Smith has made two changes from the team that lost to Hull FC last Monday with Gene Ormsby and Joe Philbin coming into the squad at the expense of Jack Johnson and Declan Patton.

One player who is in sensational form this season is Warrington’s Chris Sandow. The Australian, who joined the club midway through last season, was no better than awful last year but this time around he looks fitter and better and has been a constant threat with ball in hand.

Sandow had a shocker the last time these two met and the Wigan fans took great delight in that, we are backing the pocket battleship to score a try at any time at 2/1 with Betfred.

Wigan’s Josh Charnley and Dan Sarginson have both revealed they will be leaving the Warriors next season and therefore have a point to prove to the supporters, back them both to score at any time at 9/2 with Sky Bet.

This game should be a thriller and is very close to call but we are backing the Wolves in this one with Sandow pulling the strings, back the visitors to win this one by 1-6 points at 7/2 with Paddy Power.

Wigan Warriors versus Warrington Wolves takes place at the DW Stadium on Friday, April 1 with a kick-off time of 2000 BST. This game will be shown live on Sky Sports.

Recommended Bets:
Chris Sandow to score a try at any time – 2/1 Betfred
Josh Charnley and Dan Sarginson to score at any time – 9/2 Sky Bet
Warrington to win by 1-6 points – 7/2 Paddy Power
