St Helens v Leeds Rhinos Super League Betting Tips & Live Preview

Leeds Rhinos are in the unfamiliar place of being the underdogs in a Super League clash as they travel to Langtree Park to take on St Helens.

Bet on Super League at Bet365. Saints host Leeds on Friday and the game is live on Sky Sports

Super League champions Leeds Rhinos went down 18-14 to NRL champions Melbourne Storm at Headingley last Friday in the World Club Challenge and coach Brian McDermott will be expecting a huge response.

Leeds are the outsiders at 9/5 with Bet365 to win this Super League encounter, while St Helens are the 4/9 odds-on favourites with the draw on offer at 20/1.

The Rhinos are currently sixth on the Super League ladder with two wins from three matches and have a game in hand over their rivals following their WCC clash.

They have already claimed wins over Hull FC and Salford City Reds, but they did suffer a week two defeat at the hands of fierce rivals Castleford Tigers.

St Helens, who failed to reach the Grand Final in 2012 for the first time since 2005, will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in Super League.

Nathan Brown’s men have had a mixed start to the season with two wins, a draw and a defeat from their opening four matches will be looking to add more misery on to the Rhinos.

The Saints are still without injured trio Paul Wellens, Lance Hohaia and Josh Perry although Paul Clough is in line for his first taste of action this season.

Rhinos prop Ryan Bailey, who missed the World Club Challenge defeat, has been named in McDermott’s 19 man squad although it may be a bit soon for him to return following a knee injury.

The Rhinos have been handed a 14 point head start on the handicap market at a price of 2/5 with Boylesports, while St Helens -6 are an even money shout at Sportingbet.

Both teams have very strong finishers in their line-up and Rhinos winger Ryan Hall can be backed at 9/1 with BetVictor to cross over first, while Saints centre Jordan Turner is available at 14/1 with Stan James.
