The 2015 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final will be held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, August 29 and will feature Leeds Rhinos and Hull Kingston Rovers.

The Rhinos, who are the defending Challenge Cup holders after beating Castleford Tigers last year, booked their place in the Final on Friday evening with a 24-14 win over St Helens at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Leeds raced into a 12-0 lead thanks to tries from Zak Hardaker and Joel Moon and although Mark Percival pulled one back the Yorkshire side led 12-4 at half-time.

A superb try from veteran prop forward Jamie Peacock put the Rhinos 18-4 in front and although the Saints rallied with scores from Percival and Andre Savelio Leeds put the result out of St Helens’ reach with a late try from England international Kallum Watkins.

The second semi-final between the Wolves and Hull KR took pace at Headingley on Saturday and everyone expected Warrington to cruise to the Final – but the magic of the cup took over and the Robins booked their first Challenge Cup Final appearance since 1986.

Warrington got the ball rolling after just 90 seconds with a try from Ryan Atkins and we all thought the floodgates would open – but that was not the case as Hull KR produced one of the best performances of the season.

They led 12-6 at the break following tries from Josh Mantellato and Ken Sio and a great upset was well and truly on the cards. Kevin Larroyer extended their lead to 18-6 with a well taken try when it looked like he had been tackled. Mantellato added a penalty for a 20-6 lead and the game looked over.

As usual Warrington refused to lie down and two tries in 10 minutes from Richie Myler and Ben Currie put the Wolves within two points – but hooker Shaun Lunt sealed the win with a late score to send the Robins to Wembley with a 26-18 victory.

The Rhinos are the 2/7 favourites with Ladbrokes to make it back-to-back Cup Finals, while Hull KR are the 3/1 outsiders – but they seem to relish the underdog tag so anything can happen at Wembley.
