Back Sydney Roosters to win by 19+ points @ 11/5 Paddy Power

The NRL teams are expected to repeat the 3-0 series whitewash of 2015 this time out, although Bettingpro.com disagrees with that we do expect the Roosters to beat the Saints. St Helens are missing their star player in James Roby and he is one of the main reasons they are still seen as a top side in Super League, without Roby the Roosters will be too strong and quick up the middle and we expect them to show their dominance in the final 20 minutes and record a 19+ points margin victory.

Back Joe Burgess to score the first try versus St Helens @ 10/1 Sky Bet

The one thing St Helens fans hate more than losing to an Australian is losing to a Wiganer. Former Warriors winger Joe Burgess will line up at Langtree Park in the Tri-Colour hoping to get one over on the Saints, the hated rivals of his beloved Wigan. Burgess is one of the best finishers around, that is why he was snapped up by the Roosters, and if he is given some space earlier on then no-one will catch him.

Back Wigan Warriors to beat Brisbane Broncos @ 6/4 Paddy Power

Wigan came agonisingly close to being the only Super League team to win last season, as they went down in extra-time to the Broncos. For the second year running, the Warriors hold Super League’s best chance of getting a victory and head coach Shaun Wane will still be fuming at last February’s defeat and he would love to get one over on Broncos coach Wayne Bennett, who has just been named as the new England coach.

Back Michael McIlorum to score at any time against the Broncos @ 5/1 Betfred

Wigan hooker Michael McIlorum is not the most prolific try scorer in the world, but when the chips are down he lifts his team-mates and supporters with his no nonsense attitude. We expect this game to be a tough forwards battle and if Wigan need a score late in the game then McIlorum is the man to go to, either on the end of some sublime support play or by going himself close to the line.

Back Jonathan Thurston to win the Man of the Match award against Leeds Rhinos @ 6/4 Paddy Power

North Queensland Cowboys half-back Jonathan Thurston is, without doubt, the greatest rugby league player in the world today. If the Cowboys are to win the World Club Challenge at Headingley on Sunday then it will be on the back of all his hard work. His attacking skills are second-to-none, he can kick goals off the touchline for fun and, if needed, he can tackle all night long as well. It is simple, if Thurston plays well then the Cowboys win.
