Australia take on New Zealand in a one-off Test match in the nation’s capital and they are expected to cruise to victory.

Australia coach Tim Sheens has recalled Sam Thaiday, Luke Lewis, Kurt Gidley and Justin Hodges back into the Test arena after they were not involved the last time Australia got together.

Bill Slater starts the game at full-back for the Kangaroos with Greg Inglis moving back into the centre, while Jonathan Thurston partners Cooper Cronk in the halves.

Cameron Smith captains the side at hooker with Paul Gallen binding the pack at lock.

Sonny Bill Williams has been denied an automatic return to the New Zealand Test team through injury.

SBW was expected to return following an impressive start to the NRL season - but he has been withdrawn by his club after picking up a slight knock. Simon Manering will lead the Kiwis after Benji Marshall was stripped of the captaincy, although the Wests Tigers five-eighth misses the game anyway through injury.

There is a Test debut for 19-year-old Roger Tuivasa-Sheck after the Sydney Roosters winger impressed during the first part of the season.

Punters at Sportsbet.com.au are very confident that the Kangaroos are untouchable and are currently being backed at $1.12 to win, while the Kiwis are on offer at a staggering 6.20.

Sportsbet.com.au spokesman Ben Hawes said: “In a two-horse race, it simply doesn’t get any more one-sided from a betting perspective.

“Bets of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,000 were coming in for the Aussies, while the biggest wager we’ve written for the Kiwis so far is $50.”

The line handicap market sees the Kiwis handed a massive 16 point head start at a price of 1.92, while Australia -16 is on offer at the same price.
