Saracens vs Leinster Champions Cup Final Betting Tips

So here is is, the final curtain in what has been a thrilling European season for all of the best sides in the northern hemisphere. Teams from across England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France and Italy have battled for supremacy, and now only two sides are left, with Saracens representing England, and Leinster of Ireland the final two. Neither side will give the other an inch, but this will not stop metres from being made by scintillating backs and play-making fly-halves, but we think it may be in the centimetres that is where this game will truly be won and lost.

Saracens arrive at this point perfect in the competition. Without tasting a loss across the entirety of the season in Europe, Sarries have really been enjoying themselves as they have scored the most points, while they have continued to champion a defensive wall that wins them games, and potentially another trophy. For Leinster, things have not been quite so perfect, but they seem to be peaking at the right time. A loss to Toulouse in the group-stage of the competition was something that would have weighed heavily on their mind going into their semi-final with the same opponent following an incredibly slim win over Ulster in the quarter-final, only for Leinster to hammer their wasteful opponents. Now, the two looked incredibly well placed to battle it out for the Champions Cup trophy.

In the betting, both Saracens and Leinster are perfectly even in the betting at Evens with Betfair, with the pair incredibly difficult to split. However, a perfect run in the competition so far sees our backing go to Sarries, with the side perfectly built for knockout rugby. Indeed, their performance against Munster in the semi-final, which ended 32-16 to the English side displayed this, while they obliterated Glasgow Warriors 56-27 in the quarter-final as they have continually showcased their ability to get on top of their opponents and win games, with their wall-like defence supplemented perfectly by their powerful forwards and incisive backs. The battle between Owen Farrell and Jonny Sexton at 10 for Saracens and Leinster respectively will be hugely interesting, with the two perhaps not quite at the peak of their powers at the moment. In the pack, the battle between Tadhg Furlong of Leinster and Mako Vunipola of Sarries will be incredibly tight, with the two British and Irish Lions stars looking to help their team control at the set-piece.

During the game itself, we think that it will be a match of few tries, with Sarries and Leinster supremely powerful defensively. However, two men that continue to impress are Sean Cronin of Leinster and Liam Williams of Saracens. Cronin in particular has been good, scoring six tries in eight appearances for the Irish side, and he will look to add another to his tally in Leinster’s attempt to defend their crown. Williams meanwhile has been superb for Saracens this season in both England and Europe, with the Welsh back making metres and scoring tries. His ability to pluck the ball out of the air and beat men is massive to Sarries, and we are backing him to also go over the line at some point throughout the game.
