Throughout the duration of the 2019 Rugby World Cup we here at BettingPro will be providing our predictions and best bets for the biggest games at the greatest show in rugby.

Australia vs Georgia - Friday, October 11 - 11:15 BST

Australia's World Cup has displayed both the very best and worst of the side, with the Wallabies remaining a real unknown quantity despite having played three games. An awful first-half against Fiji in their opener threatened to see the side give themselves a mountain to climb straight off the bat but a much-improved second-half display ended with Australia picking up a bonus point win. Next, the first-half once again proved to be their undoing as they left themselves too much to do in the second-half against a Wales side that made the most of their chances. The third game of their campaign saw them cast Uruguay aside in a 45-10 win that secured a bonus point but was not ever really the drubbing many thought it might be. Now, with just one game against Georgia left to go, Australia know they have to win and win big if they are to have any chance of finishing at the top, although this is completely predicated on the results of Wales, who are still on for ending the pool stage with a 100% record. With this in mind, Australia know they need all five possible points from the game to move onto 16 points and, at the time of writing on 8/10/2019, they would go seven points clear of Wales who have two games in hand. Australia are currently 10/11 to win with a -25 point handicap with William Hill and, if they can channel the style of their second-half performances against Fiji and Wales, we feel this one will be a drubbing against a Georgia side that are exceptionally physical and will try to force an arm wrestle as they will want to do anything they possibly can to make the game as narrow as possible.

England vs France - Saturday, October 12 - 09:15 BST

England and France's Pool C decider may bring with it the chance to ensure a 100% record is retained by one of the teams going into the knockout stages, but it has been argued by many that while a loss would see this record ruined, it would also allow the loser to avoid New Zealand in the semi-finals of the World Cup, thus improving the chances of another side knocking the all Blacks out along the way. This method would likely see the loser having to take on Wales in the quarter-finals, but most agree this is a more favourable fixture rather than facing the double reigning World Cup champions. With this in mind and the fact that it could see Eddie Jones potentially field a much-changed side, we are shying away from backing either of the two sides, and so we are instead looking to back try scorers in the match. While Jonny May and Anthony Watson started the match against Argentina and Jack Nowell came off the bench, monster-wing Joe Cokanasiga missed out, and we believe the explosive winger will get his chance on Saturday to show exactly what he can do. Along with this, if the try scoring hooker in the shape of Luke Cowan-Dickie is to play, we feel he will add tot he three tries he has already bagged at the tournament, with the number 2 often coming off the bench against tiring opponents, throwing into an attacking line-out and receiving the ball before at the back of the maul before dotting down as the forwards go over the line.
