The ITV Racing team are in action at Warwick and Kempton on Saturday.

Brian Healy gives his live TV horse racing selections for Saturday's TV coverage of the meetings from Warwick and Kempton.

The ITV Racing cameras return to our screens on Saturday with the pick of the action across two of the day’s UK and Irish horse racing meetings.

This week the cameras will be rolling at Warwick and Kempton, where the Grade Two Leamington Novices’ Hurdle and the Grade Three Classic Handicap Chase spearhead the action at the former venue.

Meanwhile, Ed Chamberlain and the team will also be featuring the Listed  Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle from Kempton’s race-card, and also the competitive 32Red.com Handicap Chase on their coverage from the Sunbury venue.

In all there will be seven races shown live on Saturday’s afternoon broadcast, and Brian Healy takes a race-by-race look at the days’ live TV schedule where he has selections for all seven races.

MS PARFOIT (11/4, Betway) has taken really well to chasing, shaping as if better for the run and experience when finishing third of four runners behind Sainte Ladylime at Uttoxeter back in November when registering back-to-back wins subsequently at Cheltenham and Newbury.

The latter run came at the expense of the smart Happy Diva, with Anthony Honeyball’s charge brushing that rival aside with some distain and looking as if she had plenty more in the tank.

The Mahler mare may well have further improvement to come as she takes a step up the ladder into a stronger contest, and a hat-trick could very much be on the cards if continuing her progression.

WAITING PATIENTLY (7/4, William Hill) may find the drying ground not ideal, but Malcolm Jefferson’s progressive star ought to take plenty of beating here.

The Flemensfirth gelding showed excellent form in a trio of novice chases last term, beating the smart Forest Bihan impressively at Newcastle prior to slamming subsequent Grade One winner Politologue in a Haydock Grade Two contest.

Quicker ground at both major spring festivals ruled the northern raider out of action for the remainder of the season, but he showed plenty on his return from ten months off to run out a comfortable winner at Carlisle in November, beating Belami Des Pictons and subsequent North Yorkshire Grand National winner I Just Know easily.

Sure to be sharper for the run, he is an exciting talent who could have significantly more progress to come and he should go close if improving as expected for that run.

Waiting Patiently can win at Kempton on Saturday.

NO HASSLE HOFF (6/1, William Hill) showed some good form in novice hurdles last term, scoring at Hereford last November before taking on the likes of Wholestone, Constantine Bay and The Worlds End when posting a trio of placed efforts in Graded company.

Dan Skelton’s charge rounded off his season when finishing fourth to Fountains Windfall in the Gaskells Hurdle at Aintree, and he made a winning return at Uttoxeter in October where he ran out a comfortable winner over Oscarteea.

The Craigsteel gelding ought to find this easier than the Haydock Stayers’ Hurdle he contested last time – won by Sam Spinner – and the return to a longer trip is in his favour.

Those who finished around him haven’t upheld the form, although Le Rocher – who finished seventh – has twice struck over fences since; he looks sure to turn in another solid effort with his sights eased, although conceding weight to all but one of his rivals this is no easy task.

Nevertheless, he ought to go well again and no surprise to see him in the shake-up.

Dan Skelton’s SPIRITOFTHEGAMES (14/1, Betway) looks a possible handicap dark horse, and the Darsi gelding could have plenty of improvement to come on the back of a recent win.

A winner between the flags at Lisronagh, the Skelton runner struck impressively in an Ayr bumper prior to being fast-tracked into Grade Two company where he ran with credit behind Peregrine Run to finish fourth in the Hyde Novices’ Hurdle.

Having found only Doesyourdogbite two lengths’ too strong here on Boxing Day little over twelve months ago, he subsequently ran out an impressive winner over Minella Style at Taunton, scoring by eight lengths. That race included the smart Amour De Nuit who finished third and has since won four times, achieving a rating of 137.

The Darsi gelding was quick to pick up where he left off following a break, returning from almost nine months off to run out a comfortable winner at Lingfield back in November, beating Molly Carew by two lengths on his handicap debut. Sure to strip fitter for that run, he could post a big run here off a mark of just 134 despite the rise in class into Listed company for this latest outing.

The Skelton team have enjoyed a fantastic season thus far, and with the Darsi gelding still a relatively unexposed sort over hurdles he is open to further improvement, and he could go close in a typically competitive renewal of this contest.

Spiritofthegames can strike for Dan Skelton in Kempton's Lanzarote Hurdle.

3:00 Warwick - Ballymore Leamington Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) Cl1 (5yo+) 2m5f ITV4

Any one of the six runners in the race could win this contest, with plenty of potential on show not least from Nicky Henderson’s Mr Whipped who is one of two runners in the race defending an unbeaten record.

However, COUNT MERIBEL (5/2, William Hill) lost nothing in defeat when tried at this level at Cheltenham last time, and Nigel Twiston-Davies’ charge was only caught late having perhaps just failing to get up the hill in the Bristol Novices’ Hurdle where he finished runner-up behind Kilbricken Storm.

The Three Valleys gelding had won all three previous starts this term in good fashion, including winning a competitive contest at Ascot with an eight lengths’ defeat of Perfect Harmony which included a subsequent winner.

Likely to be suited by the return to this trip, he has to concede 3lbs to his five rivals; but still with the potential to do better he could resume winning ways here, and he made the frame on his only previous outing at this venue. Drying ground is no issue, and no surprise to see him bouncing back from his Cheltenham reversal here.

Fountains Windfall has looked a sure-fire winner on each of his last two starts only to capitulate at a crucial stage, and his jumping again may scupper his chances, while he has to concede weight to these rivals which includes BALLYALTON (9/2, Paddy Power) who has lost little in defeat in competitive Cheltenham handicaps the last twice.

Ian Williams’ charge was a 2016 Cheltenham Festival winner, landing the Close Brothers’ Chase prior to finishing fifth behind Native River over this trip at Aintree in a Grade One next time.

Subsequently absent for 569 days, he had a spin over hurdles at Aintree back in October prior to those good efforts behind Splash Of Ginge and Guitar Pete respectively.  The handicapper has dropped him 1lb, and the drying ground could prove in his favour as he steps back up in trip.

While he has stamina to prove over three miles, he could well be capable of lasting home around this speedier track and it would be no surprise if the Pierre gelding went close assuming the trip doesn’t become an issue.

Ballyalton (right) can win at Kempton if seeing out the longer trip.

3:35 Warwick - Betfred Classic Handicap Chase (Grade 3) Cl1 (5yo+) 3m5f ITV4

GOODTOKNOW (14/1, William Hill), could give Kerry Lee a second winner in three years in this contest, and the Presenting gelding could be worth chancing to come out on top despite having pulled up last time.

That run came over the Grand National fences, and the Presenting gelding had gone well for a long way fading out of contention and failing to finish at the Aintree venue. However, he got no further than the second fence on his earlier return to action at Wincanton which may have had a bearing on his Aintree run as he was essentially having his first start of the season, and he may just have needed the outing on the testing ground.

He took a couple of runs to reach his peak last term, but he produced a cracking effort in this race twelve months ago to chase down the eventual winner, going down by six lengths to the subsequent Grand National winner.

Having scored at Hereford on his next start, beating former dual-Welsh Grand National winner Mountainous under a big weight, he wasn’t at his best at Haydock in the Grand National trial where he failed to finish after some ponderous early leaps left him with plenty to do; the run may have come soon enough however following his Hereford success, and he went well for a long way in the Grand National proper until a mistake at the Canal Turn on the second circuit put him on the back foot and he gradually dropped away.

The weights have gone up 14lbs across the field since the early entries following the defection of original top-weight Ptit Zig from the race; he features here through off - theoretically at least - just 2lbs higher than twelve months ago, and with the yard in good form he could well post another big run back at this venue.
