Brian Healy gives his live TV tips for Saturday's televised action from Ascot, Newmarket and Redcar.

The ITV Racing cameras are back in action on Saturday with an excellent eight-race card of TV coverage which takes in racing from three meetings across the UK.

From Newmarket there are three races being shown live including the Group One Sun Chariot Stakes; while at Ascot there will be four races going to post on the day’s coverage, including the Group three pair of the Cumberland Lodge Stakes and the Bengough Stakes.

Completing Saturday’s line up of televised action is the latest renewal of the Redcar Two Year Old Trophy which features from the Cleveland track.

1:40 Newmarket - British EBF Premier Fillies' Handicap Cl2 (3yo+) 1m2f

NEAROOZ (6/1, Bet365) got back on the winning trail at Lingfield last month, and Roger Varian’s charge could be worth chancing to follow up here.

The New Approach filly won her debut  here last October, and following six months off the track doubled up when making a winning return at Wolverhampton in April, beating New Jazz. That win was followed by successive runner-up efforts at Nottingham and Chester, and while she bombed at Goodwood in July she showed that effort to be all wrong last time.

Always travelling well, she was sent to the front between the last two furlongs where she stayed on strongly to record a cosy win, and a 4lbs rise for that last success looks workable.

David Egan takes the reins again, and all three of all three of the New Approach filly’s wins have come under this rider; the pair can combine then for another success in a competitive opener to Saturday’s TV action.

2:00 Ascot - UK Hi-Fi Show Live Rous Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 (3yo+) 5f

DAKOTA GOLD (6/1, William Hill) was only run down late by the eventual winner Maid In India in the recent Dubai International Airport World Trophy Stakes at Newbury, beaten a half length; but the Equiano gelding had been on a roll prior to that defeat with a string of successes which saw her win four on the bounce which included at Listed level.

Three of those four wins came at York, and he is clearly well suited by the Knavesmire; but he has performed well away from that track and Michael Dods’ progressive sprinter can find another chunk of improvement back in Listed company to quickly regain winning ways.

Despite her recent wins coming over further than the minimum trip, he showed at Newbury latest that he is fully effective over the shorter trip and he can quickly get back on the scoresheet with softer ground no issue.

2:15 Newmarket - £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes Cl2 (2yo) 6f

UNDER THE STARS (7/4, Coral) has been contesting in Group company in recent times, and with her sights considerably eased for this latest outing then James Tate’s charge ought to prove hard to beat.

A dual-winner earlier in the campaign, scoring wins at Ripon and Ascot in the Group Three Princess Margaret Keeneland Stakes, the Night Of Thunder filly hasn’t been disgraced in defeats in Group One and Two company.

Last seen out last weekend, she was beaten only one length into fourth behind Daahyeh in the Group Two Shadwel Rockfel Stakes, and a repeat of that effort ought to be good enough to see her get back on the scoresheet dropped in grade.

Despite this being a big field, she has shown she can handle softer ground and although her odds are likely to be skinny given she is stepping out of Group company she remains open to further improvement and should go well despite this being a competitive contest.

2:35 Ascot - Property Raceday Targets £3M Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 (3yo+) 1m4f

With proven form in soft ground to call upon, MORANDO (2/1, Coral) can quickly get back to winning ways at this level having been narrowly denied by Technician in the recent Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury.

Andrew Balding’s charge handles a soft surface well as he showed when demolishing Kew Gardens by eight lengths in the Ormonde Stakes back in May, and subsequent runs can perhaps be forgiven seeing as they came on ground much quicker than he might have liked.

He lost little in defeat at Newbury when last seen, although the winner didn’t do much for the form when disappointing in the St Leger; but he had the reopposing Sextant behind - a winner since - and with conditions again more likely to suit then he looks worth another chance and he can get back on the scoresheet here.

2:55 Redcar - Racing TV Redcar Two Year Old Trophy (Listed Race) Cl1 (2yo) 6f

DUBAI STATION (12/1, Ladbrokes) can bounce back from his effort behind Threat in the Gimcrack Stakes at York, and Karl Burke’s charge had looked a hugely progressive sort prior to that lesser effort.

A winner at Haydock in June on soft ground, the Brazen Beau colt lost no caste in defeat next time when beaten three lengths into third behind A’Ali in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot; and he filled the same position next time behind Earthlight in the Prix de Cabourg where he was beaten around four lengths.

The form of both of those successes has worked out well, and while he posted a lesser effort at York when last seen, he wasn’t the only one to fail to give his running on the Knavesmire, and he is better than he was able to show on that occasion.

This is competitive and a strong line-up for a Listed prize; but he could appreciate stepping out of Group company and he can bounce back with a better effort than he produced at York latest.

3:10 Ascot - bet365 Challenge Cup (Heritage Handicap) Cl2 (3yo+) 7f

CASANOVA (8/1, William Hill) is progressing well this term and arrives on a hat-trick of wins following earlier successes at Wolverhampton and Sandown latest where the Frankel gelding ran out a ready winner over Pinnata.

A lightly-raced sort, he had shown only fair form earlier in the campaign prior to being gelded; but he is 2-2 since, posting an impressive win over Great Esteem on the tapeta prior to that last success.

He found plenty latest for pressure, but he looked well on top at the finish and there could be more to come from the son of Frankel who drops back to seven furlongs where he can show the lesser yardage to be no issue having struck both his wins over one mile and beyond.

He travelled strongly into that race last time so the prospect of a strong pace here will help him to get into a rhythm, and a 6lbs rise in the weights could prove lenient with the potential for further improvement to come from him.

Still unexposed he can take the step up in class in his stride to register a hat-trick of wins, and he can take top honours in this valuable handicap.

3:25 Newmarket - Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Fillies & Mares) Cl1 (3yo+) 1m

Four of the first five home in the recent Matron Stakes all reoppose for this Group One contest, and it may be worth chancing on IRIDESSA (9/2, William Hill) to confirm that Leopardstown form with Hermosa, Laurens and I Can Fly who finished second, fourth and fifth behind Joseph O’Brien’s charge.

The Ruler Of The World filly won the Fillies’ Mile here last October, beating Hermosa; she wasn’t able to confirm form back here in May for the Qipco 1000 Guineas, and she again came up short at the Curragh in the Irish 1000 Guineas before being stepped up in trip to beat the smart Magic Wand in the Pretty Polly Stakes, and she possibly failed to stay the trip when contesting the Irish Oaks.

She won a shade cosily at Leopardstown latest, running down Hermosa inside the last furlong and keeping on strongly to score by almost one length, and a repeat of that effort may be good enough if the soft ground doesn’t prove an inconvenience.

She has been beaten on both occasions when encountering ground worse than good, but quite a few of her rivals also have something to show on his softer ground and with her yard in decent heart at present she could be worth chancing to come out on top.

3:40 Ascot - John Guest Racing Bengough Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 (3yo+) 6f

The drop back to a sprint trip could see DONJUAN TRIUMPHANT (6/1, Bet365) get back on the scoresheet, and Andrew Balding’s Dream Ahead entire is taken land this Group Three prize.

Well suited by plenty of cut in the ground, he rounded off last term with a Listed win in the mud at Doncaster, and following a disappointing reappearance at Leicester he bounced back to chase home Brando in in a competitive contest at Hamilton in soft ground where he was denied by less than two lengths.

Fourth next time, he was disappointing behind Sir Dancealot in the Lennox Stakes, and again behind Glorious Journey at Newbury when last seen in the Hungerford Stakes. However, he has never fully convinced over seven furlongs, and he could be at his best over sprint trips in the mud and the conditions of this race are very much in his favour so he could post a big run if coming back to his best.
