UKIP leader Gerard Batten 7/4 to go this year after controversial appointment

Gerard Batten is facing calls for a vote of no confidence and odds of just 7/4 with Betway to immediately step down from his position as the leader of UKIP.

The naming of English Defence League founder Tommy Robinson as an adviser to Batten has left the party leader being backed with Betway to resign from his position.

If Batten manages to pull through until the New Year, he may not have long before stepping aside with the bookmaker offering just evens for him to be replaced in 2019.

UKIP itself is also now offered at 25/1 to disband as an organisation.

“Gerard Batten has odds of just 7/4 to resign hovering over his head following his appointment of Tommy Robinson,” Betway’s Alan Alger told Bettingpro.com.

“Nigel Farage has come out in staunch opposition to the move and a number of the party are expected to follow suit.

“If Batten isn’t removed before the year is out, then a vote of no confidence could be passed at some point in the very near future and he’s even-money to be replaced in 2019.”
