SNP 11/2 for coalition government role after General Election

SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon

With the government outlining the powers it intends to transfer to Holyrood, William Hill are offering odds of 11/2 that the SNP will be involved in a coalition government following the General Election.

William Hill are also 4/1 that there will be another Scottish Independence Referendum before the end of 2020, and 6/4 that there will be another by the end of 2024.

Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe told Bettingpro.com:

“With the outcome of the General Election very likely to produce a Hung Parliament there is every likelihood that the next government will be a coalition, and the SNP could well have enough seats to hold the balance of power.”

With opinion polls boosting the chances of the SNP picking up a large majority of Scottish seats, William Hill now make the Party 1/6 to beat Labour in Scotland (7/2 vice versa), and have cut the odds for them to collect 26 or more seats from 4/6 to 4/7.

Meanwhile, Labour have been cut from 5/1 to 4/1 to end up with between 6 and 10 seats inclusive., while they are down from 8/1 to 7/1 to win five or fewer. Hills are 5/1 that Labour take 11-15.
