Conservatives 5/6 fav to win most seats during General Election

For the first time since the "omnishambles" budget of March 2012, the Conservatives have taken over as favourites to win most seats in May's general election, according to Ladbrokes.

Ladbrokes has cut its odds to 5/6, with Labour moving out to Evens to finish as the largest party.

It remains odds-on that a hung parliament emerges, but the chances of a Tory majority are now marginally higher than a Labour one.

With three times as much having been staked on the Tories over Labour, political punters seem convinced that the voters will continue to move in favour of the Conservatives between now and polling day.

Ladbrokes’ Matthew Shaddick told Bettingpro.com:

“Ed Miliband is now fighting a war on two fronts, with the SNP hammering Labour in Scotland and the green surge threatening to hand several seats to the Tories in England.  The money now says that David Cameron could be staying on in Downing Street.”
