Don’t give up your day job, Boris! Bookies laugh off Johnson’s 1,000,000/1 ‘No Deal’ Brexit claim

Boris Johnson has priced up the UK withdrawing from the EU without a deal at ‘a million-to-one’, but bookmaker Betway believes he has seriously over-priced it!

Johnson is currently 1/7 to win the Conservative Party leadership and the keys to No.10 that come with it, and he sounds highly confident of securing a withdrawal agreement with the European Union.

However, the odds suggest he may not be able to deliver with Betway 3/1 about the UK leaving the EU with no deal by the end of October 2019.

It is odds-on at 1/3 that the UK secures a further extension beyond October 31, which looks more likely than the 10/1 on leaders shaking hands and Parliament agreeing to a deal before that date.

“While Boris Johnson is clearly looking to convince Conservative Party members that he is the man for the job, he’s unlikely to get any work as an odds compiler,” Betway’s Alan Alger told Bettingpro.com.

“We think Boris’ reassurance that a no-deal Brexit would be ‘a million-to-one’ shot under his leadership is far from the truth and make it just 3/1 for the UK to break away from the EU without a deal by October 31.”
