South Sydney Rabbitohs v Melbourne Storm Prediction

South Sydney Rabbitohs v Melbourne Storm Preview and Tips

Looking to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time in almost two years, Melbourne will be determined to atone for last week’s stunning loss to the Titans at Suncorp Stadium.

The Storm appeared to have wrapped the game up by jumping out to a 10-point lead in the final stages of the match, but the Titans roared home with three late tries, including a Konrad Hurrell four-pointers in the final minute to steal a famous 38-36 victory.

Melbourne equalled the record for the most points conceded in a loss, and that’s something that Craig Bellamy, who takes pride in his team’s normally brick-wall defence, will be livid about.

In fact, the Storm’s defence has been shaky for a while now. Last year Melbourne conceded 20 points or more in a game just twice, while they’ve already leaked that amount three times this season - all occurring in the last four rounds.

South Sydney will be looking to take advantage of this uncharacteristic lull in the Storm’s play, with the Rabbitohs returning to the winners circle last week with a dominant 28-8 win over the Tigers.

While they haven’t really made an impact against the bigger sides this season, that will should give the Rabbitohs plenty of confidence, especially Robbie Farah, who played his best game for Souths and is gunning for Origin selection.

Nevertheless, it will take a huge effort from Souths to emerge triumphant. Melbourne rarely dish out consecutive poor performances, and they will be determined to make amends for last week. The Storm have only lost one of their last 10 games against the Rabbitohs, and I expect they will be too strong again on Sunday in Perth.
