Believeland! Bookies slash Cleveland Browns’ Super Bowl odds after blockbuster Odell Beckham Jr trade

Bookmakers have slashed the odds on the Cleveland Browns winning the Super Bowl after they agreed to a blockbuster trade with the New York Giants that will see wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr join them this offseason.

The Browns were the laughing stock of the National Football League in 2017 as they lost all 16 regular-season games, but after years in the wilderness this famous franchise finally started to show some life in 2018.

Cleveland missed out on the playoffs, but they did compile a perfect 7-8-1 record that saw them finish just three games behind AFC North champions Baltimore, and that record would have been even better had they not suffered from kicking woes during the early part of the season.

For the first time in a long time they are trending up, and that trajectory may be even steeper now that the team have agreed to one of the biggest trades the NFL has seen in a long time, landing the services of OBJ.

While the deal does not match the king’s ransom that the Chicago Bears paid to lure Khalil Mack away from the Oakland Raiders, the impact is much bigger because OBJ is one of the biggest names in the entire sport having developed a global reputation for his incredible one-handed catches.

His arrival will give second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield a huge playmaker to aim for and the deal the Browns have done will be considered by many to be legalised theft.

Cleveland have only given up a first-round pick and a third-round pick for this year’s NFL draft, along with safety Jabrill Peppers, and in return they have landed one of the best wide receivers in the game today, forcing the bookies to slash their outright odds for the 2019 season.

For the first time in a very long time, the Browns are as short as +1400 to win the Super Bowl at bet365, with only four teams – the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints – ahead of them in the market!
