Both Teams to Score and Win tips - How to bet on this lucrative football betting market

Want to find out more about Both Teams to Score and Win betting? We explain how the market works and the best strategies for winning big profits from small stakes on the exciting new football betting option.

Following the introduction of the popular Both Teams to Score betting coupon, it was inevitable that bookmakers would start offering similar markets in order to give more football betting options to punters and one of those is the now ubiquitous Both Teams to Score and Win bet.

The bet is fairly simple and works as a combination of Both Teams to Score, Match Result and Correct Score betting. Instead of picking the result of a particular match, you select a match in which you think a team will win and that both teams will score in. That means that Correct Scores of 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 3-2, 4-2 etc. when you have selected the home team, the reverse when selecting the away team and scores of 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4 etc when backing Both Teams to Score and Draw.

The beauty of this bet is that it offers odds which are much higher than either the Win Market price or the Both Teams to Score price but it is also far easier to predict than the 'all or nothing' nature of Correct Score betting.

Both Teams to Score and Win Accumulators - What is a Goal Rush Accumulator?

Due to the obvious popularity of Accumulator betting, where multiple selections are placed together in a bet to increase the odds, it makes sense that firms would offer accas on Both Teams to Score and Win bets. These are sometimes referred to as 'Goal Rush' bets, with coupons now appearing both in betting shops and online with the major bookmakers.

The bet is as simple as it sounds, pick two, three, four or more Both Teams to Score and Win matches from the coupon and the odds will be multiplied, meaning that you can land massive payouts from very small stakes. No doubt you have seen several such winning slips on social media, where a bet of just £1 can land returns in the thousands. This is because of the high odds of each selection, which are accentuated when the selections are multiplied.

Why would I place a Both Teams to Score and Win bet?

These big odds payouts are the primary reason that people choose to back Both Teams to Score and Win. It tends to be a more throwaway bet than the Win Market, with those placing the bet doing so more as a 'lucky shot' type bet, often using the same selections as the win bet but just with much higher odds, and lower stakes. The beauty of a Both Teams to Score and Win bet is that it will always have a chance and you will always have hope. If your side goes behind then it's no big deal, as you'd have wanted to opposition to score at some point anyway. Similarly, it offers some added excitement to a one-sided match as you are still hoping for a consolation goal from the losing side.

The other reason is to gain extra value from a short priced favourite. Often the likes of Barcelona or Real Madrid are offered at prohibitively short prices in the Win Market but they can be backed at a comparatively bigger price in the Both Teams to Score and Win market. This provides a direct contrast to the Win to Nil market, which is a bet that people don't like as it can be ruined by a simple mistake, and the Handicap market, which can be tricky to work out and can be ruined by a single goal.

An example of this is the 2016 Spanish Copa Del Rey Final. Barcelona are priced at a prohibitive 1/4, which are hardly odds that someone would want to place a £10 bet on.

However, the Both Teams to Score and Win odds for Barcelona are 13/10. This, given the nature of the game and the tendency for goals when Barcelona play, is a much better bet and a casual punter would be able to back this as a single, or place in an accumulator for much bigger returns.

How do I pick a winning Both Teams to Score and Win bet?

The best method of picking winning Both Teams to Score and Win bets that we have found is to use the tactics detailed above. Look for teams that are short priced favourites to win the match, and are likely to win by a reasonable margin, and then compare their odds to the Both Teams to Score and Win prices. You will frequently find that the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Celtic, Rangers and Bayern Munich are prohibitively priced in the win market but they are over-priced on the Both Teams to Score and Win market, simply due to the fact that are expected to win every game by a wide margin. It's not always the case and frequently the 'minnows' that these teams are playing are able to either give the favourites a scare by scoring early or else net a consolation goal to land the bet.

The other tactic is to look for teams in leagues where goals are a regular occurrence. The German Bundesliga, for example, is a division that contains teams with strong attacks and weak defences and so most games tend to be high scoring. This is the same in the Dutch Eredivisie as well as many of the Scandinavian Leagues. In these divisions the teams that win matches usually do without keeping clean sheets and so if you have a fancy for a team to win then backing them in the Both Teams to Score and Win market is a route to extra profits.

Only two teams kept clean sheets in the final round of 2015-16 Eredivisie matches

Ladbrokes, for example, offer the 'Result Rush' coupon, which is available in their Football>Coupons section. This makes building an accumulator incredibly easy:

There are other bookmakers who offer similar coupons and, ultimately, it depends on which site layout you prefer. One thing to look out for though are the bookies who offer refunds on losing accumulator bets when one or more of your selections fails to win. This can offer a great insurance for your Both Teams to Score and Win bets and it is well worth opening accounts with firms that offer this 'Acca Insurance'.
