NHL betting tips from's expert, including the best bets from Nashville Predators at Chicago Blackhawks and Colorado Avalanche at Calgary Flames.

Nashville Predators at Chicago Blackhawks (01:00 GMT on Thursday)

The Nashville Predators head to the Windy City on Wednesday on the fourth stop of a six-game trip. Peter Laviolette’s boys are in high spirits after handing the Toronto Maple Leafs a 4-0 beating in front of their home fans at the Scotiabank Arena. Mattias Ekholm and Kevin Fiala each had a goal and an assist to lead Nashville to their second-straight win and fourth in five games. PK Subban and Colton Sissons also scored while Pekka Rinne stopped 18 shots for his third shutout of the season. The Central Division leaders improved to 26-15-3 with 55 points. The Blackhawks (16-22-7, 39 points), meanwhile, have lost three of their last four games to remain next-to-bottom in the Central Division just ahead of St. Louis. They suffered a 4-3 home loss to the Nashville Predators on Monday. Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist to pace Chicago while Alex DeBrincat and Brandon Saad also lit the lamp. We are picking the Predators to triumph over the Blackhawks.

Colorado Avalanche at Calgary Flames (02:30 GMT on Thursday)

The Calgary Flames head to the Scotiabank Saddledome with the aim of sweeping their regular-season series against the Colorado Avalanche. The Flames beat the Avalanche 3-2 in overtime in Denver last October 13 and won their rematch 6-5 in Canada on November 1. Calgary have won seven of eight in the series and the Avalanche haven’t won in the Alberta city since 2016. The Flames (26-13-4, 56 points) return home after capping their four-game trip with a 4-3 win at Chicago on Monday night. Johnny Gaudreau scored twice while Sean Monahan had a goal an an assist to lead the Western Conference and Pacific Division leaders to their fifth win in seven games. Garnet Hathaway added a short-handed goal while David Rittich tallied 32 saves as they swept their three-game season series against the Blackhawks. Gaudreau is aiming to extend his goal-scoring streak having lit the lamp in their past five games. The Avalanche (20-15-8, 48 points), meanwhile, opened a five-game Canadian trip wit a 7-4 loss at Winnipeg on Tuesday. Gabriel Landeskog scored twice to pace Colorado, who suffered their eighth loss in 10 games. Carl Soderberg and Ryan Graves also scored for the Avalanche. Landeskog is the team’s third leading scorer behind Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon, who are both in the top five in league in scoring this season. We expect the Flames to beat the struggling Avalanche.
