NHL betting tips from Bettingpro.com's expert, including the best bets from Anaheim Ducks at Washington Capitals and San Jose Sharks at Montreal Canadiens.

Anaheim Ducks at Washington Capitals (20:00 GMT)

The Washington Capitals are on a roll and they hope to sustain their impressive form against the equally-hot Anaheim Ducks. The defending Stanley Cup champions have racked up seven consecutive wins to improve to a Metropolitan Division-best 15-7-3 record with 33 points. They are coming off a 6-3 home win over the New Jersey Devils on Friday. Nicklas Backstrom recorded his second career hat-trick as the Capitals avenged their humiliating 6-0 loss at New Jersey last October 11. Washington’s other goals came from Alex Ovechkin, Andre Burakovsky and Tom Wilson, who was ejected late in the second period after a hard hit on Brett Seney. Reports said that Wilson will likely avoid suspension. The 24-year-old winger was earlier slapped a 20-game ban that was later reduced to 14 games for a similar incident in the pre-season. Braden Holtby made 33 saves. TJ Oshie remains uncertain after missing their last seven games with an upper body injury. The Ducks (13-10-5, 31 points), meanwhile, extended their winning streak to three games after posting a 2-1 overtime victory at Carolina on Friday. Ryan Getzlaf scored 1:15 into the extra period to seal Anaheim’s fifth win in six games. Pontus Aberg sent the game into overtime by scoring a goal with less than four minutes left in regulation. Anaheim and Washington split their two meetings last season with each team winning at home. We expect the Capitals to extend their winning run.

San Jose Sharks at Montreal Canadiens (00:00 GMT on Monday)

The Sharks have won their last six meetings against the Canadiens and have taken 10 of 11 in the series. The Sharks (12-10-5, 29 points) are hoping to end their five-game trip on a positive note after suffering defeats in Vegas (6-0), Buffalo (3-2 OT), Toronto (5-3) and Ottawa (6-2). Brent Burns and Logan Couture will lead San Jose in this duel along with Timo Meier and Joe Pavelski. The Canadiens (12-9-5, 29 points), meanwhile, are coming off a 5-2 home win over the New York Rangers on Saturday to halt a five-game slide. Shea Weber and Artturi Lehkonen each had two goals in the first 26 minutes of the game to put Montreal in control before Tomas Tatar added an assurance goal in the third period. Tatar, Max Domi and Jonathan Drouin will lead the Canadiens, who last beat the Sharks in 2015. We expect a victory for San Jose in this duel.
