NHL betting tips from Bettingpro.com's expert, including the best bets from Buffalo Sabres at Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins at Anaheim Ducks.

Buffalo Sabres at Carolina Hurricanes (00:30 GMT on Saturday)

The Carolina Hurricanes are out to extend their winning streak over the Buffalo Sabres when they square off at the PNC Arena. The Hurricanes (20-18-5, 45 points) have won six in a row over the Sabres after losing four straight in their head-to-head duels. Carolina are determined to bounce back in this game after suffering a 3-1 loss at Tampa Bay on Thursday that ended their five-game winning run. Justin Williams put the visitors ahead in the second period but the Lightning countered with three goals in the third period. The Sabres (23-14-6, 52 points), meanwhile, are targeting back-to-back wins after blasting the New Jersey Devils 5-1 on Tuesday night. Jeff Skinner, CJ Smith, Casey Mittelstadt, Jake McCabe and Lawrence Pilut all scored in the second period to lead Buffalo to just their third win in nine games. We expect Carolina to beat Buffalo in Raleigh.

Pittsburgh Penguins at Anaheim Ducks (03:00 GMT on Saturday)

The Pittsburgh Penguins open their five-game Western trip in Anaheim with the aim of avenging their earlier loss to the Ducks this season. The Ducks posted a 4-2 win in Pittsburgh last December 18 to extend their winning run in the series to three games. Evgeni Malkin and Bryan Rust gave the Penguins a 2-0 lead after the first period before Adam Henrique, Kiefer Sherwood, Ondrej Kase and Ryan Getzlaf struck for Anaheim. Interestingly, the two teams had contrasting fortunes after that duel. Pittsburgh picked up eight straight wins before losing to Chicago last Sunday while Anaheim have lost nine in a row. The Penguins (24-13-6, 54 points) blasted the Florida Panthers 5-1 at home on Tuesday. Rust scored twice while Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist to lead Pittsburgh back on track. Tanner Pearson and Riley Sheahan also joined the scoring party while Matt Murray stopped 36 shots. Anaheim’s woes continued on Wednesday following their 2-1 overtime home loss to the Ottawa Senators. Jakob Silfverberg put the Ducks ahead in the first period but Bobby Ryan struck in the third period and Colin White sealed the win in the extra period. The Ducks fell to 19-17-8 with 46 points to fall behind Calgary, Vegas and San Jose in the Pacific Division. We expect the Penguins to beat the slumping Ducks in this duel.
