NHL betting tips from Bettingpro.com's expert, including the best bets from San Jose Sharks at Dallas Stars and Carolina Hurricanes at Anaheim Ducks.

San Jose Sharks at Dallas Stars (01:00 GMT on Saturday)

The red-hot Dallas Stars are targeting their second win over the San Jose Sharks this season. Behind two goals from Devin Shore, the Stars downed the Sharks 4-3 at the American Airlines Centre last November 8. The Ontario native opened the scoring in the first period and nailed the tie-breaking goal with just over five minutes left in the game. Tyler Seguin and Gemel Smith also scored for Dallas. San Jose’s goals came from Evander Kane, Timo Meier and Joe Pavelski with Brent Burns assisting twice. The Stars (15-10-3, 33 points) have racked up three straight victories to stay within striking distance of Central Division pace-setters Nashville, Colorado and Winnipeg. They are coming off a 4-1 home demolition of the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night. Brett Ritchie tallied a goal and an assist while Jamie Benn scored his fifth goal in six games to lead Dallas. Jason Dickinson and Esa Lindell also lit the lamp while Anton Khudobin had 28 saves. Benn, who has 12 goals and 12 assists, is Dallas’ second-leading scorer behind Seguin. The Sharks (14-10-5, 33 points), meanwhile, are coming off impressive wins over Montreal (3-1) and Carolina (5-1) following a four-game skid. Timo Meier had a goal and two assists in his return from injury while Martin Jones made 39 saves in their home win over the Hurricanes on Wednesday evening. Barclay Goodrow, Tomas Hertl, Joe Pavelski and Marcus Sorensen also lit the lamp while Joe Thornton tallied three assists as they avenged their earlier loss to the Hurricanes this season. We expect the Sharks to beat the Stars at home.

Carolina Hurricanes at Anaheim Ducks (03:00 GMT on Saturday)

The Anaheim Ducks are aiming to sweep their regular-season series against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Ducks edged the Hurricanes 2-1 in overtime in Raleigh last Friday with Ryan Getzlaf nailing the game winner. Andrei Svechnikov gave Carolina the lead late in the first period before Pontus Aberg scored less than four minutes left in regulation to force an extra period. The Hurricanes (12-11-4, 28 points), meanwhile, are hoping to end their three-game California adventure on a positive note after absorbing defeats in Los Angeles (2-0) and San Jose (5-1). Lucas Wallmark was Carolina’s lone goal scorer in their loss to the Sharks on Wednesday. Carolina were again without top goal scorer Micheal Ferland in due to a concussion and his status for this game is uncertain. Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen will try to lead Carolina back on track. Teravainen is aiming to do better after failing to earn a point in their last five games. The Hurricanes have lost have lost three in a row and four of five following a three-game winning streak. We expect a win for the Ducks in this duel.
