New York Islanders at Carolina Hurricanes (00:00 BST on Saturday) - Eastern Conference Semi-finals Game 4

The Carolina Hurricanes are just a win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in a decade and they are aiming to get that victory before their fans at the PNC Arena on Friday night. Rod Brind'Amour’s boys took a commanding 3-0 lead over the New York Islanders in their conference semi-final duel after posting a 5-2 home triumph on Wednesday evening. Justin Williams, Teuvo Teravainen and Sebastian Aho each scored in the third period to break the game open after the two teams battled to a 2-2 deadlock after 40 minutes. Williams nailed the go-ahead goal 10:15 into the final period before Teravainen and Aho added a pair of empty-netters late in the game. Teravainen also scored in the first period while Justin Faulk delivered another goal in the second period. Curtis McElhinney made 28 saves as he started for the injured Petr Mrazek. The 35-year-old also made history by becoming the oldest goaltender to make his play-offs debut. Carolina have now won five in a row and seven of their last eight games. Devon Toews and Josh Bailey scored for the Islanders, who are in danger of being swept in the play-offs for the first time since 1994 when they suffered the fate at the hands of the New York Rangers in the first round. Robin Lehner stopped 34 shots. We are backing the Hurricanes to clinch the series at home.

Dallas Stars at St Louis Blues (02:30 BST on Saturday) - Eastern Conference Semi-finals Game 5

The Western Conference semi-final duel between the St Louis Blues and Dallas Stars returns to the Enterprise Centre for Game 5. The Stars tied the best-of-seven series at 2-2 after posting a 4-2 win at home on Wednesday. Jason Dickinson, Jason Spezza, John Klingberg and Roope Hintz each scored a goal while Tyler Seguin, Alexander Radulov and Mats Zuccarello had two assists as they handed the Blues first road defeat in the play-offs. Ben Bishop had 27 saves. Vladimir Tarasenko put St Louis ahead 5:02 into the first period before the hosts countered with two goals and added two more in the succeeding period. Robert Thomas netted the Blues’ second goal in the third period while Ryan O'Reilly tallied two assists. Jordan Binnington stopped 27 shots. It was Hintz’s fifth goal in the play-offs to tie Radulov for most in the team. The 22-year-old from Finland currently has eight points. Radulov, Zuccarello, Seguin and Jamie Benn lead the team with nine points each. Tarasenko scored his fifth goal to snap a two-game pointless streak. Jaden Schwartz, who had a goal and an assist in Game 3, failed to pick up a point in Game 4. We expect the Blues to bounce back in Game 5 and seize the series lead.
