NHL betting tips from Bettingpro.com's expert, including the best bets from Columbus Blue Jackets at Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens at Colorado Avalanche.

Columbus Blue Jackets at Toronto Maple Leafs (00:00 GMT on Thursday)

The Toronto Maple Leafs have won their last four meetings but they have yet to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets this season. The Blue Jackets posted a 4-2 win at Columbus last December 20 and won their rematch 3-2 in overtime in Canada on January 8. The Maple Leafs are coming off a 4-3 win over the league-best Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday behind two goals and an assist from William Nylander. Toronto improved to 71 points (33-19-5) to keep pace with Tampa Bay and Boston in the Atlantic Division. Columbus is also inspired heading into this duel after blasting the New Jersey Devils 6-1 at home on Saturday. Artemi Panarin and Oliver Bjorkstrand registered a goal and an assist each as the Blue Jackets halted a season-high five-game slide. They are currently ranked sixth in the Metropolitan Division with 60 points. We expect Toronto to get its first win against Columbus this season.

Montreal Canadiens at Colorado Avalanche (02:30 GMT on Thursday)

Colorado Avalanche are out to avenge their earlier defeat to the Montreal Canadiens this season. Led by Jonathan Drouin (1 goal, 2 assists), the Canadiens beat the Avalanche 4-2 at home last January 23 to halt their opponents' 10-game winning run. The Avalanche, however, are in a better position to challenge for a wildcard spot in the playoffs. They are currently ranked 11th in the Western Conference with 64 points (30-21-4). The Avalanche concluded their three-game trip with a 5-4 win at Buffalo on Sunday to snap a two-game skid. The Canadiens, meanwhile, are ranked third-to-bottom in the Eastern Conference with 51 points (22-26-7). We are backing the Avalanche to win this duel.
