Gdansk hosts Tournament I where hosts Poland, Chile, FYR Macedonia and Tunisia will be competing for the group's two tickets to the premier international stage in August, while at Tournament II in Malmö the top two from Spain, Slovenia, Iran and Sweden will be hoping to join them.

Denmark, Croatia, Norway and Bahrain are all set to battle for two tickets to South America in Herning in Tournament II.

Action gets underway in Sweden at 1600 BST with Spain and Slovenia renewing a rivalry that last saw them meet in the group phase of the men’s EHF EURO 2016 in Poland in January, when they played out a thrilling 24:24 draw.

Slovenia faced group phase elimination from that competition, but Spain made it all the way to the final where they were downed by Germany and forced to settle for the silver medal.

Despite Slovenia finishing 14th in Poland compared to Spain’s second place, this match could still go either way and fans can expect a high octane affair to start the weekend proceedings.

There'll also be a host of stars on show with the likes of Julen Aguinagalde, Victor Tomas and Arpad Sterbik in action for Spain, while Slovenia boast the likes of Dean Bombac and Uros Zorman in their ranks.

Following that clash, Norway take on Bahrain in Herning (1700) and having raised a few eyebrows by reaching the last four of the European Championship, the Norwegians will be looking to build on that in Tournament II.

Bahrain qualified for the Olympic Qualification Tournament thanks to their third-place finish at the 2015 Asian Qualification Tournament.

They also finished second behind Qatar at the Asian Men’s Handball Championship in January this year and though Norway are firm favourites can't be taken lightly.
