It is the day the nation goes to the bookies, with Ladbrokes predicting that £250 million will be gambled on the race across the nation, and much of it will be on 7/2 favourite Tiger Roll as he bids to emulate Red Rum with back-to-back wins of the world’s most famous race.

Other horses that have captured the public imagination include 20/1 shot Joe Farrell, along with the mount of Ruby Walsh Rathvinden who is 10/1.

“The Tiger could roar again at Aintree tomorrow and if he does, we are facing a nightmare pay-out,” Ladbrokes’ Nicola McGeady told Bettingpro.com.

“He is the public horse who has continued to line the pockets of punters and the odds suggest tomorrow will be no different.

“It is the day the nation goes to the bookies, with many punters picking a horse because they like the name or the colour.

“This year Joe Farrell, Rathvinden, and Tea For Two are the horses capturing attention besides the favourite.”

Meanwhile, it is 16/1 that history is made and a female rider wins the race.

Lizzie Kelly and Rachael Blackmore will have their backers as they ride 66/1 shots Tea For Two and Valseur Lido.
