Valero Texas Open betting tips for this week. Read on for our expert tips for the Valero Texas Open taking place on the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio.

Valero Texas Open

The PGA Tour stays in Texas this week with the Valero Texas Open which is being played at the Greg Norman designed AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio for the 10th consecutive year.

This year, like most years the event has struggled to get the World's best to compete as it falls just a week before the first major of the year The US Masters which starts next Thursday in Augusta, and again like most years, it's probably worth overlooking the market leaders when looking for a winner.

Ricki Fowler heads the betting at 10/1 and he looks a false favourite as Fowler hasn't played since the Players Championships and amazingly is making his debut at this event, which suggests his participation is to just get his golf game fine-tuned after his lay off ahead of The Masters.

American Ryder Cup trio Matt Kuchar, Tony Finau and Jordan Spieth are all next in the betting and of the three only Finau holds any claims to potentially have a good week.

Kuchar lost in the final of the WGC World Match Play on Sunday and the worry for his backers is that he must be exhausted after a long week and doesn't want to over-do it before Augusta and Spieth, well his golf game is all over the place at present and offers no value at all at 20/1.

Finau did finish third here in 2017 and although he's not one of my three main selections he would be one to have on your side in any tournament 72 hole match bets against the leading three in the betting.

Three From The Tee

Billy Horschel @ 20/1 William Hill

My main selection this week is BILLY HORSCHEL who looks a really nice price at 20/1 William Hill.

Horschel has been playing some very steady golf this season and remarkably hasn't missed a cut in eight months, so if you take my advice and back him for the win he looks a certainty to make it to the weekend.

The 32 year-old hasn't been in contention of winning this season, but eight top 25 finishes already and a 26th place finish at the Players Championships suggests that a tournament challenge isn't far away and at a venue where he always performs well, it could very easily be this week.

The five time PGA winner has a great record at San Antonio and since making his debut at this event in 2011 he's finished third (twice), fourth and just outside the top 10 in 11th last year and look set to challenge again.

Ryan Moore @ 40/1 William Hill

RYAN MOORE is another who likes this venue and I am happy to take 40/1 on another five time PGA Tour winner having a good week at San Antonio.

Moore, hasn't been in the best of form so far this season, but encouragingly he did put in one of his best performances of the season in his last outing at The Players Championship where he made the top 20 and that will put him in a very confident mood this week.

Moore was seventh here last year and that was following a 18th finish in 2017 and a eighth in 2016 and from the standard of golf he played at Sawgrass and in what is a very limited field this week, with a course record like that and a return to form 40/1 might look very big on Sunday evening.

Aaron Baddeley @ 50/1 William Hill

My final selection is AARON BADDELEY who looks a nice way pick at 50/1 which is available at most bookies.

Baddeley, hasn't been playing like his name suggests this season with three top 10 finishes and a seventh, 17th and a runners-up spot in his four events. The Australian played his best golf of the season at the Puerto Rico Open at the end of February where he finished in second and he's another who always plays well at this event with five top 20s in his seven appearances , including a fifth in 2017 and a 16th finish last year.
