Qatar Masters betting tips for this week. Read on for our expert tips for the Qatar Masters taking place at Doha Golf Club.

Qatar Masters

The European Tour stays in the Middle East this week for the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters from Doha Golf Club and it's not the best of fields that is gathered in the desert over the next four days, but that hasn't stopped it from offering some top betting value.

Before we dissect this week's runners and riders I am still in state of shock how we are not celebrating a monster 60/1 pay day with Fabrizo Zanotti last week in Oman - we had to settle for runners-up spot but the four putt on the 16th was a bitter pill to take and despite picking up the place money, it should've been a huge winner for us all.

This week Thomas Pieters heads the betting at 11/1 and the Ryder Cup star is the biggest name in the field, but the big hitter has done nothing at this championships in his visits to Doha previously and with a best finish of a lowly 51st he is a bad favourite in what is a low key field.

Tom Lewis leads the English challenge and he has already started to see support in the early betting battles and along with another English player Jordan Smith they are the tournament second favourites both at 20/1 and neither would be in my list of the top 10 likely winners this week and ones to put lines through.

Three From The Tee

Despite not having any course credentials, which a lot of players don't have in this field I was really, really impressed with another European Ryder Cup player in Oman and that was VICTOR DUBISSON and he is my headline selection in Doha at 33/1 with Ladbrokes.

The Frenchman is a class act and along with Pieters is the best player in this tournament, but he has had a nightmare year with injury and a perforated eardrum, but last week he looked sharp and back to his best with four steady rounds to finish in a tie for 12th place.

The 29 year-old is a two time European Tour winner and will be full of confidence after back to back top 20 finishes after a 18th finish in Saudi Arabia and with impressive showings in similar conditions to what he will find this week the 33/1 could turn out to be one of the better golf bets of the year so far.

Mike Lorenzo-Vera @ 28/1 Paddy Power

Another Frenchman who gets a "oui" from me this week and that is MIKE LORENZO-VERA at the general 28/1 on offer with most bookies.

Lorenzo-Vera has a good record in Doha with two top 10 finishes in the last two years and with a 27th finish in Oman and a 13th in Saudi Arabia he is another who is in form and who is performing well in the desert conditions.

Last week he put in a decent final round carding a closing 70 after going out in the worst of the weather on the Friday and Saturday in the middle of a sand storm and he's performances where better than where he finished on the leaderboard.

George Coetzee @ 66/1 bet365

My outsider this week is South African GEORGE COETZEE who looks worthy of inclusion at 66/1 which is available pretty much with all the layers.

Coetzee hasn't had the best of starts to the new season missing the cut in three of his six events , but he is a four time European Tour winner which can't be overlooked in this field and his record in Doha is the best by some distance with no worse than a 12th finish in the last five years.
